It’s been said that ECU needs to beat UNC to develop that rivalry, but naturally if that were to happen you would have to think Athletics Director Bubba Cunningham and the contingency in Chapel Hill might rethink those games. Whether right or wrong, bigger schools are worried about the potential for an ugly loss, and scheduling a dangerous mid-major like ECU isn’t particularly inviting.

I think it is an advantage for UNC to have an in-state FBS school they can play instead of playing ODU, William and Mary etc OOC. It they could play SC, then maybe A Pac-12 or Big 10 school, then an FCS school with ECU every year, it would give us 2 OOC wins and two tough OOC games.

Regarding UNC ... as someone noted, their biggest crowds are for when they play NC State and ECU?

So with the above, and MONEY (via tickets and low cost travel), I would think that all four ACC schools in North Carolina would be very interested in playing every year.

Other way around. Duke would rather get murder by Stanford and Wake is scared.

I think the better question to ask, is should a school that is in a self-annointed Power 5 conference be playing the likes of James Madison, Elon and William and Mary each year.

If they didn't play them they would never make a bowl. Never seen a school do so little with so much. And cheating at it too.

That's how I feel about UNC football. They get some tremendous recruits but never seem to have a good team. It's not like their schedule is overwhelming. And don't even get me started about the slap on the wrist they got for the academic violations. Schools have dropped or suspended football for lesser transgressions. It made a mockery of their academic reputation.

I HATE UNC but they can say whatever they want right now and if they don't want to play us (which obviously isn't the case because we are playing and future games have been scheduled) then so what? When state fans try and pull this stuff it's just laughable, but UNC has done nothing but kick our ass. Yeah we beat them once in our last 12 tries in a season they went 4-8.

Maybe beat them once in a while and we can get our panties in a bunch when they talk crap.

That said, in the words of jaredf29, I hope we fist UNC Saturday.

one thing is for sure as much as they claim that we dont matter, our games sell out which isnt normally the case with unc football.

The better question is "should we play UNC?" considering the all the cheating scandals.

You know, that ECU drop out who runs the NC State athletic department said something similar about playing ECU after we beat them two years ago.

UNC has good little football team there in Chapel Hill. I wouldn't worry too much.
