Marshall definitely Played with some swagger yesterday.
You deserved to win.

That said I think if both teams stay healthy the ECU - Marshall game
Will be for the east and Tulsa-Rice from the west

Rice has looked really impressive this season. Tough loss yesterday, but they will win a lot of games this year.

I see the championship game of ECU vs Rice

I think the CUSA race will actually be pretty interesting this year. I don't think there is any team that is clearly far and away the best team.

Blazer85, looking at your "preliminary plan" pic which begs the question....is a new stadium on the horizon? And Paul Bryant, Jr. has finally given in?

Best in C-USA? ?

Woah woah woah... You beat UTEP, that was a decent win, but when UTSA comes all the way to the East Coast against a pissed off Marshall team on their homecoming, I have a feeling you won't share those sentiments anymore.

Marshall is scared of us...why else did they schedule their bye now so they'd have two weeks to prepare for us?!? And since some of you take everything seriously, I'm adding the dancing banana so you'll know I was joking. 02-13-banana

I don't think anything has happened to rock the boat from the pre-season predictions, outside of Tulsa-Rice maybe switching in pecking order. The East looks to still be ECU/Marshall with MT having a chance, and the west Rice/Tulsa with UNT as a dark horse.

As an MT fan, I do think we have a good shot to pick off one or ECU/Marshall given we get both at home and we haven't put together a complete game as a team yet. Considering we're 3-1 and most of our fanbase feels like we still have some improvements to be made on the field, I like our chances.

@ Marshall is a tough game. Before the season i had that as a 20 point loss now I think it's alot closer. Maybe 8 point dog. But first things first bring on the Coogs.

Home or not, we'll have to be at our best to have a shot next week.

Don't underestimate us. The rest of the conference has gotten dog **** wins. @ New Mexico and @ UTEP are decent wins. Losses to Okie St and Arizona are legit.

UH is 3-0 that's another tough OOC game that most conference mates would lose just ask our almighty Rice Owls.

Not underestimating us. But I'm also not gonna jump the gun and put us in a conversation as to who's the best in the conference. That's ludicrous at this point. All I'm saying is that until we get a win against stiffer competition, we need to withhold judgment. I'm not one who's afraid to speak their mind and go out on a limb about how I feel we compare to certain teams. Heck, RUNVSFD MINER even put my statement regarding how I felt we compared to UTEP in his sig. I'll be frank with opposing fans as well as our own. But I refuse to allow us to be put into any conversation as to who's best in the conference just because we won against a team that had two conference wins last year. Again, no offense against UTEP, but I'm being honest.

Apparently you were correct. 32-13 counts as them being in our rear view mirror.

The next 2 games will tell. UH and Marshall. Win one and USTA is legit.

We have to WIN one of those to be legit? Not just compete, but win? Which win was it that made ECU legit? Was it that 14-point win over FCS Old Dominion? Or that conference win over 1-3 FAU? ECU has shown nothing that makes me think they are better than Marshall or even MTSU.

I didn't know you had that power. And all we said was don't underestimate us, we didn't say we were the elite of the conference (although we are in first place! 02-13-banana).

I'm not a UTSA doubter, I am one of the NT posters who thinks UTSA@NT will be a dogfight, HOWEVER...

You guys beat NMSU (0-4) and UTEP (1-2, that one win being NMSU.)

North Texas' win against Ball State (3-1) is a much better win. Idaho is on par with UTEP. If we are talking "legit" losses then #9 UGA and an Ohio team that beat the probable CUSA East champ Marshall are more legit.

UTSA has exceeded expectations since their
beginning. No telling when or if that will end.
Very impressive.

Sorry, but Okie State and Georgia are pretty even. Arizona is better all-around than Ohio; that one's not even a comparison.

But you agree Ball State is a better win than either NMSU or UTEP? That was my point.

Uh, we beat New Mexico, not NMSU. And Idaho is on par with NMSU, which got crushed by UTEP 42-21.

Yes, I definitely agree on Ball State, and by a pretty decent margin also. Just disagreed with your assessment of the teams we lost to.

I know UTSA is a program only 3(?) years old and in a hurry to do it all and do it now, but just wait until all the Game Days arrive and become history before you have an anxiety attack leading to cardiac arrest.

Comparing schools wins over other schools and then fans comparing those to other schools and so forth is most times a complete exercise in futility so with that in mind.........just enjoy what yall have done in so short a time and savor it because I assure you after almost 50 years of following UH, Jess Neely's Rice Owls to an extent and then North Texas there will be good times and there will be bad times, too. 04-cheers

GMG!

I like North Texas this year. I've been saying Mean Green are go bowling. My point was we have 2 road wins against 1-2 teams. The top teams in the conference have similar wins. No one in this conference should be pounding their chest or sticking their noses down at anyone. No one.
