RE: Champlin: From the other side with Northwestern State radio sideline reporter
I notice that NWS got $350,000 from Cincinnati and will get $200,000 from UAB. First, I would have expected Cinci to pay more than just $150,000 more than UAB, and second, how are such amounts negotiated? Do the "Power Schools" just set the amount they will pay or is there any discussion?
With premium seat ticket plans, the actual ticket prices and the addition of skybox rentals, the "take" for the BCS schools would likely be in the tens of millions for each home game. To pay out only a (low) 6 figure bounty seems very cheap.

Will you accept $100,000 for a game with us? Nope. We were thinking $500,000.
How about $350,000? Ok.
That is how. Whatever you negotiate with the school.
The BCS teams obviously have more money to shell out & sometimes they may want a bigger named team than NWS.

Ol Tony seems pretty confident. We'll see if the Demons can back up his talk on Saturday.
