UCF Love
Seems like opponents/writers see UCF as real.

RE: UCF Love
This is our 7th season as the Knights. 7TH!! How do we still get called the Golden Knights. I know it isn't that big of a deal and I love that a homer writer for an SEC powerhouse is writing good things about us but 7 years without the Golden! It's not that hard.

What's even funnier, we were the Golden Knights for only 10 years or so during a time we were given less exposure than any time thaw past seven. Oh well, some things just stick. Syracuse has been the Orange for years, but I still call them the Orangemen, as do many others.

RE: UCF Love
The last time ECU played UCF in Orlando we got rocked. I watched the game on TV and was really impressed with what they had done with recruiting. I remember thinking, uh oh, these guys have really turned a corner. It's not easy making the jump from mid major to BCS quality team.

I think UCF is well on their way to being a real player in Florida recruiting. As an ECU fan it pains me to write this, but the sports fan in me knows its true.

UCF's offense is real...(especially if Storm Johnson can break some good runs...which helps set up UCF play-action, which works very well if UCF is LEADING in the game) but UCF's D has a long, long, LONG way to go...which is why UCF's Offense might have to score 40 pts or more if UCF wants to beat teams like South Carolina, Louisville, Houston, et al.

Loss of scholarships and more importantly, loss of official recruiting visits (cut in half, which damaged UCF's recruiting the last few years) by probation is showing up in UCF's D....as thats where most of the holes are now.

I love the name. It's unique to the area. Gators, Seminoles, Hurricanes, Citronauts! FTU Citronauts of course, sponsored by you guessed it Absolut Citron.

RE: UCF Love
The hype we're starting to get is making me uneasy. I would rather be overlooked as usual.

The Penn State win is encouraging, but that team has like 60 scholarships and is probably having a hard time pulling in top recruits with a 4 year bowl ban. They are not anywhere near on the same level as South Carolina and we only beat them by a field goal.

The game and scoreboard do not coincide in my opinion. We made stupid mistakes (throwing that INT right before the half) and got screwed on some calls (Bortles TD run that ended up just being a FG). That game could have easily been 45 to 24 or less. If our defense can learn to wrap up and make tackles, then maybe we can escape another shootout with more points than SC.

If we need a mistake free game to beat South Carolina, we won't beat South Carolina. I've never seen UCF play a perfect game before.

We had an 18 point lead against Penn State and let them back into the game. We aren't going to have that kind of buffer at any point against South Carolina so every mistake will be extremely costly.

But South Carolina is overrated. They are the ones making the mistakes. They arer minus 1 in the turnover ratio this year. Even against SEC weakling Vandy they were minus 1 in that game. UCF is not the only team that will make mistakes. In this case is South Carolina that should be worried about making mistakes as much as UCF. The game is home isn't it? If the home crowd becomes the 12th man it should/could lead to South Carolina making even more mistakes.
