RE: Magazine Predictions
How many times have we said "this will be Steve's best team"? Seems like quite a few times. I can't believe we'll be better without WN and Leroy. Of course if we win it all this year, and are as good next year, that will be fine. That should mean we win two seasons in a row. Is that a quote, Scotto?

Can't remember ever saying that before. I usually don't put much faith in recruits I haven't seen (WN was an exception). Maybe you can find an old post if I did. Inside has said numerous times "This is our year". I was quite skeptical after losing Javes and Gillon, unexpectedly. I've been coming around, but this year's race will be a dogfight. No one will go 19-1, like MTSU did last season. If James White blossoms, like I think he can, we could challenge for the top 2 spots.

Steve has as good a talent as he is ever going to have, so time for him to produce.

I will break down why we should win this year later today.

RE: Magazine Predictions
Trying to play man to man defense without enforcers inside is like trying to run a spread offense in football with a right handed one armed quarterback, and guess which arm is missing!

If we stayed static, we couldn't be better. But the other players are going to get better, and we will get in new talent. You just have to try to build on what you have had.

RE: Magazine Predictions
But I'm worried about this year right now, and we DO have Will and Leroy.

RE: Magazine Predictions
My point was that IF we don't win it this year, when will we?

I think the foundation has been laid for some good years for some time. How good will James White be as a junior?

I think he has the potential to be the best front court player we have had since Carlos Rogers. Will he reach that potential? Who knows? He appears to be a good kid who will listen to the coaches. We just have to hope we have a diamond in the rough. Programs like ours are not going to get a "polished" diamond. I had a lot of hope for Javes, but it didn't work out. The reality is it doesn't turn out a lot more often than it does- Just have to hope James is the exception.
