New enrollment numbers for 2013
Texas St crossed the 35,000 threshold

http://www.txstate.edu/news/news_release...91613.html

Quote:Texas State University has announced the most diverse student body in the school's history, part of a record-setting enrollment of 35,568 for the 2013 fall semester.

Texas State’s student body continues to diversify, with minorities making up 42 percent of the student body. Preliminary numbers indicate Hispanic enrollment increased 12 percent to a record 10,682, and now comprises 30 percent of the student body. African-American enrollment increased 14 percent to 2,824 and accounts for eight percent of the university population.

Now to get them to games....

Quote:Georgia State University this fall has welcomed the largest and most diverse freshman class in its history.

At more than 3,200, the class has grown by 6 percent from last year. The class set records for the number of Hispanic, Asian American and African American students enrolled. The academic preparation of the group also improved, with the average high school grade-point average of the entering students rising to 3.4.

The overall number of freshman applications increased by 9 percent, to more than 13,000, with applications coming from around the world. Hispanic first-year enrollment grew by 22 percent, African American 4 percent and Asian American 10 percent over last year. Previous records for freshman, African American, Asian American and Hispanic enrollment were set last fall.

The university’s overall enrollment also set a record this fall, surpassing last fall’s record enrollment of 32,092 on Sept. 4 with 32,374 students registered for classes as of Sept. 4. Georgia State students represent 150 counties in Georgia, all 50 states and more than 150 different nations. Newly represented in the student body this year are students from Gabon, Libya, Oman, Timor and five other countries

Quote:Georgia State continues to be recognized as one of the most diverse universities in the nation. In its 2014 “America’s Best Colleges “ edition, U.S. News & World Report magazine ranked Georgia State 12th among the country’s most diverse institutions. The university ranked 13th last year.

Georgia State also tied for 14th place with universities such as Carnegie Mellon and Tulane among 23 top ”up and coming” national universities ranked by U.S. News & World Report. The ranking is based on assessments by college leaders across the nation. The university’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business moved from 56th last year to 47th in the magazine’s ranking of undergraduate business programs.

Wow that's a lot of students. Did you know that Georgia State also has a very high yearly "sugar baby" enrollment too! What a feat!05-stirthepot

RE: New enrollment numbers for 2013
The UL enrollment stayed basically static after two successive years of increased academic enrollment requirements. The regular enrollment was 16,647 for the Fall 2013 semester. Last year, the enrollment was 16,687, a difference of 40 students. The university also is enrolling a number of students in professional programs and credit-bearing continuing education for a Fall 2013 total enrollment of 18,235.

33,300 it is

http://www.uta.edu/news/releases/2013/09...llment.php

fall of 2012 was 33,239 for UTA so a very slight increase in enrollment for UTA, but still growth which is good

I thought UTA might be a bit higher because they had a very strong spring 2013 enrollment and UTA had a strong run from 2009-2010-2011 and then a slight drop for 2012 from 2011......so at least 2013 is on the upswing again

hopefully the new president will bring new energy and a fundraising campaign to go with it

The enrollment at UL has jumped from 16,500 to 18,000. This is even with higher acceptance standards. I know that is small potatoes to some of your schools but when you compare it to other Louisiana colleges we are second only to LSU. LA Tech has close to 12,00o while ULM is around 7,000 I believe.

Here are the actual numbers for normal enrollment reporting in Louisiana. ULM and Tech have not released Fall 2013 yet.

Enrollment

ULM: 8,560 (2012 Fall)
Tech: 11,360 (2012 Fall)
ULL: 16,687 (2012 Fall) / 16,647 (2013 Fall)

That's only undergraduates for UL. We picked up around 1,000 grad students. Those numbers are from last year. Those Tech numbers are also inflated. Also, SLCC (The Community College in Lafayette) has 3,600 students. Those students are heading for UL next year if they make the grade so expect another bump for 2014.

Wrong, the numbers above are all from official school releases. The 18K number has no relationship to the 16K number you posted. You are down 40 students. No big deal, just posting facts.

This is from the ULL release:

The University’s regular enrollment remains stable, with 16,647 for the Fall 2013 semester. Last year, the enrollment was 16,687, a difference of 40 students.

You left out the other numbers. If you read the whole article we are slightly about 18,000. Look at paragraph 4.

This is another one of those, "my daddy can beat your daddy" threads. Some schools are just easier to get into than others.

Not a big deal but it seems that Troy fans continue to quote enrollment for it's university wide campuses, which includes military, rather than it's main campus which I suspect is less than 10,000 or so. I'm assuming the other numbers that we see here are main campuses only.

I think the main reason for this is that Troy does not break down there student number by campus only system wide.
