Go ahead and put the 1.6 rating for Tech-TCU. OmniOrange verified the number with Barron.

Whew. Look at all those SEC teams in games drawing at least a 3.0. I count 9 SEC teams to 1 Big 12 team.

Where are the aac teams? The SEC had has some good match-ups as well as some decent conference games. The Big 12 will be fine once we start conference play.

LOL. Me and OmniOrange are both lying now?

You can verify the number yourself like OmniOrange did. David's e-mail button is at the bottom of this article.

I'm sure you guys are right but I'll wait for your friend to update his blog. I mean afterall, I wonder why he would hide that info or not publish it. Seems kinda strange.

Maybe you can invite him to post here( with proof of course verified by a mod) and he can tell us himself. You know, him being your "friend" and all

He's not hiding anything. As he told me in the e-mail:

"The ratings update I get from the assorted networks covers Friday-Sunday, so I didn't check Thursday."

I thought the whole reason you compiled the full list of ratings in 2012 was transparency. I guess you aren't interested in transparency when it reflects poorly on Tech or the Big 12.

If true, 1.6 on a Thursday Night against the NFL is pretty damn good. UH would love to have had those numbers last year against SMU(.13 on FSSW). Which by the way, was a Thursday night game going up against the NFL. Honestly, I'm not upset about our numbers considering it was played on Thursday night but hey if you feel better about UH, more power to ya.

Should be interesting to see how the aac does in Houston compared to the Big 12.

Are you seriously comparing a ranked team and an up an coming coach against SMU-Houston? Just shows no one cared

Not only that, he compares a game on ESPN vs. Fox Sports Southwest as apples to apples. Clueless.

Always an excuse. No worries though, UH will be on ESPN this year and we can see how things work out. I realize that isn't ABC or FOX but you have to start somewhere.

The one thing Houston and SMU can promote is the number of basketball games on national tv. Tech is forgotten in that category

Awesome go for it. We all know basketball pays the bills in Texas and is our most cherished sport.

Fortunately, we hired a retread from Minnesota who should help us. Well at least we won't suck as bad.04-cheers

I wonder what the Tech-TCU game would have scored going against the NFL on a Thursday night on FSSW or CSN-Houston.

For a conference with no member teams within hundreds of miles of the city, I'd say the ACC does quite well in Houston (and future scheduling partner ND is no slouch either).

You hired someone who can't recruit. But he will make the best of what limited talent he gets. He won a national title with Pitino's recruits. Then created Kentucky teams who had noticeably less talent than other schools in the SEC.

RE: Year to date 2013 Houston TV ratings
1) Why does jml have a hard on for Houston ratings? Isn't he a Tech/green machine fan? I think he's a closet SMU or Houston fan.

2) I wonder what the ratings were in Houston for the NFL game Thursday night. Thursday NFL football game between New England and the Jets on a limited cable network couldn't be that great - nobody gives a crap about either team in Houston.

3) College football can do well against the NFL Network on Thursday nights if the teams are national brands. Tech and TCU are not national brands. If the A&M v Bama game were on Thursday against the NFL Network - the NFL would've been smoked. Nationwide cable network vs a Buffalo Wild Wings dine-out network, no contest.

4) What the 500 or so threads re: Houston ratings in this realignment forum tells me: It's clear Houston loves big time SEC football, Texas, Notre Dame and sometimes OU - if they're playing Texas or the Irish (like the rest of the country). Everything else is channel surfing.
