Pretty much.

VT, for example delivers Norfolk, Roanoke, Richmond, and DC, and about everywhere else in Va.

ODU doesn't really even deliver Norfolk yet, and it won't until we are included in the CUSA media deal. Even then, VT and UVA will still "deliver" Norfolk as well.

True, but I do think the concentration of Monarch fans in Hampton Roads can deliver the Hampton Roads area and its 1.5 million people as much or better than VT (and better than UVA because they dont have as many bandwagon fans). If not now, very, very soon. We wont even come close as far as the whole state goes, but in our region, the Monarchs are strong. And our region is a pretty decent market.

I do believe JMU's sliver is larger than ODU's. Just not enough for any contribution to a TV contract. The cool thing is that ODU never has to say it brings the DC market. Our market is large enough and there is no doubt that we are a big part of it.

I think ODU delivers a good bit of "Norfolk", but the "Norfolk market" also includes the Peninsula, which is extremely weak for ODU IMO... at least in my experience of having lived on both sides of the water for significant periods.

Maybe with a 40k-50k stadium and a marketing campaign that stretches beyond the ODUAF. Potential is there, but I don't see it happening anytime soon with a 30k stadium. At 30k, the AD can continue status quo and not spend any marketing cash. We would have to see a Boise State type run to get the whole community behind us (like VCU's F4 run).

My work place on the peninsula has close 1,000 ODU alums working there, including a former ODU FB All-American. ODU is gaining traction over here.
