When we hire our new coach in a season or two, a new athletics director should be making that choice.

Meanwhile South Alabama, who wasn't even playing football when I graduated UAB in this century, just came within a touchdown of beating Tennessee, and Troy who we shouldn't have been embarrassed to be beaten by dropped their third game in a row to Duke.

No excuse getting embarrassed as we were to Vandy, but Vandy is far and away a better team than Tennessee at this point.

Is that supposed to make me feel better? They're also not nearly as good as LSU.

The thing I hate most about UAB getting their brains beat in is that it gets in the players heads and usually contributes to some head-scratching conference losses. Will be interesting to see how we respond in the next 2 games. Both are beatable opponents, but we still don't know status of Nelson or Howard. Morale is no doubt pretty low right now.

Only two that matter tonight is Vandy's score vs. UAB's, and I'm all out of whiskey

UAB played like garbage (for the most part). Vandy played possibly their best game of the year. It's really pretty simple why we lost.

Don't blame the players for a poorly coached game.

Brown was misfiring on passes he normally connects on, WRs dropped passes, missed tackles and assignments on defense, etc.

At the end of the day it's the coach who is getting paid to put a winning team on the field. It's time to start holding him and his boss accountable for the piss poor performance on the field.

Coach didn't commit to the running game. Pulled 150 on LSU. Could've double that tonight.

Again, I'm not excusing the poor coaching. That was part of this, no question. But the players did NOT play well. Coaches don't drop TD passes. Coaches don't miss tackles.

This loss was a team loss. From the coaches on down to the players. The coaches are held accountable by administration/fans. But the coaches can and darn well better hold the players accountable for their errors.

We lost because we suck. Period.

We will continue to lose until the program hires competent coaches who recruit competent athletes. Right now, we are barely a competitive FCS program. I know for a fact the top teams in Division II could kill us. I have watched them play. And I have watched us play. It's no contest who is better.
