I have never seen trash after a Memphis game.

Give this one a rest.

I REALLY don't understand the need for spray-painting the ground, though. And they probably need to make it a policy (for all games) that glass is not allowed on Tiger Lane. Not really sure how they'd enforce this, though.

It comes in a can, and unlike conventional paint that generally requires a brush for application, this paint comes in a aerosol can for quicker use.

RE: Tiger lane
I drove through there today for this very reason, to see how Tiger Lane was left after the SHC. The parking spaces had fresh white spray paint numbers, in some spaces right on top of the paint from last year. I guess the numbers at the back of each spot on the curb face are not good enough? There was a crew there picking up a lot of trash when I was there, about lunch time. I also saw some spilled oil or grease on the asphalt in several locations, it even looked like someone poured some down a drain inlet, by what was referred to in an earlier post where the volleyball net was set up. I also saw of dumped charcoal ashes and broken glass. Like I said, there was a crew there picking up the trash on Tiger Lane, the Blue lot area, and the big grass lot off Early Maxwell, walking the lots picking it up by hand. I don't think it was as bad as last year, but it was still pretty dirty, IMO.

I have no pictures, sorry. But as a point of comparison, I plan on going down there next Monday after the ASU game to see how dirty or clean Tiger Lane is.

RE: Tiger lane
I pass by there on the way to work and sometimes drive through just because I like to see Tiger Lane. I drove through this morning anticipating a thread like this and wanted to see for myself before commenting.

TL has quite a bit more trash than after a similar sized Tiger game, but people tailgate for longer (beginning on Friday) for this game than the Tiger games, so I think more trash cans and more frequent pick-up during the event would help. The amount of trash and broken bottles in the drives is a bit much, but in the end, trash can be picked up.

Where I have a big problem, is the destruction of property, mainly holes driven into the asphalt, hot ashes dumped into the parking spaces and, of course, painting the numbers on the parking spots. This makes no sense to me at all since the spots are already numbered with nice plates attached to the curbs. Someone (I assume the city) painted over the spray paint from last year with black in an effort to make it less noticeable. Now, the organizers of the SHC (not those attending) have come in and spray painted over that with white paint again.

Why the need to create a new numbering system when one already exists? Even if one wanted to use a new numbering system for that one game, why not mark the spots with chalk instead of paint?

Good Post, everyone should pick up after himself. I always said, pack it in and pack it out. And I bet all the garbage cans were full but still don't go and throw your trash on the ground.

RE: Tiger lane
I haven't read the above posts, but I have been fuming since yesterday when I took my normal dog walk over to Tobey Park. There was a stream of garbage of all kinds ~ dirty diapers, papers, cups, beer bottles (some broken), wine bottles, chicken boxes, cans, litter of every kind ~ from the area around the dog park, the skatepark, the ball fields, all the way to the railroad tracks, and even all over the huge Memphis City Schools Admin. parking lot.

My dog had a great time finding all the chicken wings and rib bones, and I had a great time yanking her back from eating them.

Two questions: WHY can't the City, which makes so much money off of this event, at least remove all the filled garbage bags left on fences and the ground, full of food remnants that just attract rats, on Sunday???!!!!

What kind of college-educated folks befoul someone else's neighborhood with their after-party trash? THIS IS MY NEIGHBORHOOD! 03-pissed

Oh, and I was driving home soon after the game let out, apparently. Quite a few cars were driving way too fast and gunning it all over the streets. NOT a good night to be on the roads.

Come on, saluki! We've heard nothing but how big an economic boom the SHC is for years.
