End of game question
Interesting situation from TB-NO game today. Game was delayed due to weather, so you're on a wet field. 1:10 left, TB leading 14-13, with 4th and 3 at NO 29. Bucs try 47-yard field goal, miss it, and NO hits a big play to set up winning FG. Here's my question. Is the FG attempt the right call by TB there?

I think you go for it. I think odds have to be close on making 3 yards versus making a 47-yard field goal on a bad field. And you risk the block on the FG. Plus, and this is the biggie for me, a first down there wins the game, since NO have used their TO's. A field goal that leaves a minute on the clock doesn't. We've had several posters comment on time management. What do you think about that one?

RE: End of game question
Clearly depends on the field conditions... but I clearly would understand going for it there if the field is in bad shape

I think it's a close call either way. Just seemed an interesting question. On video I saw, looks like plant foot slipped a little and kick hooked left.

I was thinking same thing. Given that they ran on 3rd and 6, I thought they would run again on 4th and 3. Or maybe throw it since the clock will stop on change of possession regardless.

Curious if he is being 2nd guessed.

Go for the first down.
