Meh... nothing more than Dilfer and Young crying over how their Golden Boy didn't win. Gronk got chested out .... the pass was short and intercepted.... game over.

Chested out? Kuechly had his arms wrapped all the way around him.

The only call that could have been made is pass interference. It hasn't been mentioned here, but everywhere else people are say that it should have been defensive holding. Ball is in the air when the contact occurs, can't be holding.

Now, the question is whether or not you think the pass is catchable. The picture you posted does a wonderful job of showing that the safety is clearly in position to make the interception when the contact is initiated. At that point, you can argue, that the ball is uncatchable for Gronk. Best case scenario for Gronk if Kuechly isn't even there, Gronk somehow stops his momentum and comes back the 5 yards to break up the pass from behind the safety. And the game still ends.

RE: Panthers, the poster children of choking....
Initial contact was was chesting and after bumping he put his hands up.... And the Panther's player broke for the INT therefore it wasn't catchable.

NOW.... IF Brady had of not thrown short and low.... i.e. more "too Gronk" in the back of the endzone to where it was to his head area....I could see a case being made for some PI...as is... NOPE.

That photo isn't where contact was initiated. That was after Kuechly had forced him backward. Contact was initiated at the front of the end zone, while Gronk was still between Lester and the line of scrimmage, and pretty much right at the point where the ball ends up being intercepted. From the video replays you could see Gronk trying to plant his foot and work back toward the ball, but he was forced further back by Kuechly. It's hard to argue that Gronk, at 6'6" with an enormous wingspan, couldn't have at least been able to make a play on the ball had his movement not been restricted. You even admitted that in your "best case scenario," which means that the ball, per the rulebook, was catchable, even if it wasn't likely that he would catch it.

8 in a row for the Panthers. Most consecutive wins in history. Can't wait for next Sunday. I hope Drew Brees goes home defeated and sore. There are few guys in the NFL I like less than him.

I've already seen Saints fans saying they want to bring back the bounties for one game next week. Trash.

Yeah, he's way less likable than the laptop thief who strikes a Superman pose after every TD. 03-lmfao

RE: Panthers, the poster children of choking....
Not sure I would have believed it if you told me at the beginning of the year, but the Panthers are now all but guaranteed a playoff spot, control their own destiny for a first round bye, and are still mathematically able to get the number 1 spot.

1. Panthers miss the playoffs with:
2 losses AND 49ers and Cardinals win this coming week AND Cardinals win over 49ers in the last week

2. Panthers make the playoffs with:
one win in the last 2 weeks,
OR
2 Cardinals losses,
OR
2 49ers losses,
OR
Lions and Bears win out AND one Cardinals loss

3. Panthers win the division and first round bye with:
2 wins,
OR
Win over Saints this coming week AND Bucs win over Saints in the last week

4. Panthers win the number 1 seed with:
2 wins AND 2 49ers wins AND 2 Seahawks losses

1 and 4 are mathematically possible but statistically unlikely. 3 would be nice but I don't like the chances with the Saints coming off a loss. 2 seems most likely.

You don't like your chances at home against a team that just got whipped by Kellen Clemens and the Rams? Yeah, the Saints will be pissed, but that doesn't change the fact that they're mediocre (at best) on the road, and the Panthers have their own revenge factor going.

I'm a Panthers fan. I've just now started to let myself believe that we won't find a way to lose every close (at one point we were 2-14 under Rivera in games decided by 7 points or less; since then we are 3-0 in those games with close wins over SF, NE, and MIA who are all likely playoff teams). I got excited last week when we played NO for first place in the division and we got crushed. I'm not getting excited this week but I will be ecstatic if we win.

Also, our secondary showed up against the Jets but I still think we are weak against pass oriented teams such as NO.

I tell you that the the outside cold weather along with it being home game for the Panthers makes the Saints @ Panthers game this Sunday totally winnable. As ticked as the Saints might be, Carolina will want to atone for that failure in NO.

Best I am willing to allow my self to get hyped for is playoffs period. Winning the South would be icing on the cake.

For that matter, I think only Carolina and San Francisco have the nuts to go to Seattle and win there.

RE: Panthers, the poster children of choking....
Wow, just saw they signed Shayne Graham so I thought I would look up his Wikipedia page. He's known for his years with the Bengals but here is the list of teams he has signed with (not necessarily ever played for):

New Orleans
Seattle
Buffalo
Seattle (2nd time)
Carolina
Cincinnati
Baltimore
New York Giants
New England
Washington
Dallas
Miami
Baltimore (2nd time)
Houston
Cleveland
Pittsburgh
New Orleans (2nd time)

Many of these teams cut him after only a few weeks and he never actually played in a game for them. Kind of crazy. Hard to make it in the league as a kicker.

It looks like it'll be in the mid 70s in Charlotte Sunday afternoon.
