Re: Memphis vs Arkansas State
I have always liked the ASU series. Playing a game every other year or so sounds good to me.

You make a good point. Although, the games are a high risk, low reward ratio for Memphis, the Tigers are expected and should regularly beat Ark St. Frankly, it is embarrassing to often lose to teams like Ark St. It gets coaches fired.
The defeats to lesser programs had the benefit of helping promote a serious effort to improve Tiger football. I appreciate the Red Wolves for acting as one of the catalysts for the change.
In the future, the Tigers will weigh the costs and benefits of playing ASU home and home. It may make financial sense to schedule a school willing to play Memphis without a home and home agreement as the Tigers enter a new era in a new conference.
Funny, ASU fans, coaches and players think the same thing about Memphis, and think their program has passed your program by.
I admire your passion and commitment to your team, but you confuse recent on-field accomplishments with program success. As a program, Memphis draws from a bigger and richer media market, exists in a better conference, has a larger athletic budget, and more nationally known (due to basketball) than ASU.
Your program (like Memphis to most of the P5) is at a strategic disadvantage compared to Memphis and it cannot be readily overcome. It does not benefit the Tiger program to make your task easier by scheduling home and home games.
My program, no way, my interest in ASU athletics has nothing to do with them being my team. If they dropped sports it would be fine with me. Has to do with a promise made many, many years ago.
The rest of your post seems to be a little arrogant considering the reality of your program but so be it.

Only play A State in the future in Memphis. Just say no to Jonesboro.

Ah, so THAT'S where A State is located. Thanks. Now I don't have to google it.

If ASU program has passed Memphis, I hate to see the final score if Memphis ever catches up with the Indians.

Not that it means anything. I'm just wondering.
I think we'll be able to run on state. We have to keep their offense off of the field...and keep their defense tired.
Was I right or what?? WOOHOO!
