Vandy enters at #56. They had 4 top players leave in late July, so it's kind of the same concept as what happened with Butler.

Maryland #55. Big East now only conference left with more than 50% of teams still to go.

UTEP enters at #54 and in the tourney as a 12 seed.

Texas is going to be terrible this year. Providence will be better than them easily.

think with Providence they're expecting them to finish 7th which would be like a 7-11 or 8-10 record if they beat the 3 teams behind them both times and getting 1-2 wins vs teams above them. Texas they have them finishing 6th which would be like a 9-9 or even 10-8 record in conference.

I think the big question for Providence is how they replace Council.

La Salle enters at 53.

Utah St enters at 52. Takes MWC down to only 3 teams in the tourney. Could they be projecting 6 teams in the tourney for the Big East? Will be interesting to see if we see St Johns or Butler the next 2-3 days.

Pittsburgh enters at 51. ACC down to same % of teams left now as the AAC.

Pittsburgh if they ever are a bubble team is in a lot of trouble with their OOC schedule. by far the worst OOC schedule of any team mentioned(worst one 4, they're a 1)

St John's enters at 50. 2nd team out. I'd probably flip them with Butler now quite frankly.

The Big East gets another bubble team. Butler comes in at #49, 5th in conference,and headed for the NIT.

I think this list has Butler overrated and St. John's and Peofidence underrated.

And, Dayton enters as the last at large team in the tourney.

Strange pick - especially to take them ahead of St. John's.

I think probably had a good bit to do with the OOC schedule- thinking they'd be close to the same team and the OOC schedule is way tougher. They play 4 teams 2x in the A10- Rhode Island, SLU, Richmond, and St Joe's- so not too bad there at all.

Thanks for the insight, Steve. I can see how it makes sense from that POV.

But are they really going to be close to the same team when they lose 3 of their top 8 players - 2 of their top 3 scores? And one of those was their leading scorer and assists leader. The other was their leading shot blocker. The third player was one of their best 3-point shooters (.425 in 87 attempts). And it's not a senior dominated team ready for a big year. They will be starting 3 sophomores.

And it's not like last year'steam was any good (14-11, 7-9, 11th in A10). I just don't see them being ranked that high.

Cincy appears at #47 and in a PIG.

Florida St in 46 and in a PIG. Tomorrow presumably the last PIG team.
