William Lee to Visit UAB
William Lee is a power forward from Alabama - Part of the "FAB 5".
UAB basketball recruiting is much better than we had in years. We are now clearly in the top 2 with in state recruits - Auburn in going nowhere with Barbee doll. I hope we can close on this one. Lee has narrowed it down to 5 schools and set official visits to each school. Claims all 5 are even at the moment

"Lee will visit Mississippi State next weekend, followed by Georgia, UAB, Alabama and Wichita State in that order in subsequent weekends."

"The power forward said it’s possible he could commit during one of his visits, but he said he is not leaning in any direction."

While it isn't the only factor, & sometimes it really isn't a factor, you have noticed that some players go to schools along with their buddies.

Is Lee a buddy with the guy who committed to Moo U? I know he is with Calhoun & Sullivan & probably is a well with those committed to the UA system west school.

I'm thrilled he's coming to visit UAB at least. We really, really need to get him after the Haas news that came out recently. If we can add him, that's a solid freshmen class to add to what we will already have in place. Haase has been able to get plenty of guys to visit, hopefully we'll start seeing that pay off starting with Lee.

RE: William Lee to Visit UAB
Im pretty sure not very many of them have visited after the locker rooms were finished. Hope Lee and the others will make hoops on the haasephalt. If there is one negative from the locker rooms, judging from pictures I saw is that there are prison showers in the locker room. Privacy and the ability to feel comfortable is a little important

In football, certainly. In basketball, not sure.

If they do, they're not as good at as they used to be.

They may be in a "cool down" period to let the dust settle.

If he also chooses the school to the west, I won't be able to help it, my UAB conspiracy paranoia will spike.

After the "possible Fab Five to UAB" headlines (which I never did want to see, and cringed at) it seems as if someone influential (UAT booster maybe) put on some sort of pressure to make sure it would never happen.

I thought we had redefined the "Fab 5" to any 5 recruits who sign with UAB

Apparently, the basketball program is using the football team's approach to over signing. Some players will be told to hit the road. Sad.

Not aware of anyone being told to leave. KC will get a medical hardship and remain with the team.

I think he is referring to the UAT basketball program?

So the whole Fab 5 thing was cool and exciting while it lasted, but it is more than obvious that we will get a Wonderful One out of that group at best. Just appreciate the quality talent that is considering UAB and stop building up this dream that we will miraculously pull a contiguous, monstrous class.

RE: William Lee to Visit UAB
"The reasons I like Wichita so much is because they made it to the Final Four this year," Lee said "Two, they only have basketball. They don't have football. I didn't know that until they told me that."

It seems a basketball focus is important to Mr. Lee. Perhaps that's why he didn't jump aboard the UAT train when the others did.
