Their yardage is deceiving because (due to two poor punts primarily) they were playing on short field most of the night.

Northwestern was probably as excited to play us as Wolverienies were for Akron.

The Broncos gave Northwestern their biggest challenge of the season, holding them under 40 points and under 500 yards. The Northwestern fans around me started to get nervous until their tear late in the 2nd.

Defensive lapses happened around 9 left in the 2nd, and around middle of the 3rd quarter. They came out of the locker room strong both at the beginning of the game and at halftime.

Don't see how saying I liked the effort of us playing the #17 team in the country respectably is a stretch, except when you consider you want to disagree with everything I say

You should know better than to try and say anything positive or even worse question anything the GREAT D.B. says. This is his own personal board and don't ever forget it.

But then that's just the view of one old jock sniffing YELLER .

P.S. GO BRONCOS

Oh, he!! to the no, DB!! The Hawkeyes were so incredibly dull that I spent a lot of time watching the Illini instead. (I've never switched games like that.) The Cyclones just had no offense. The first 3 quarters were the dullest Iowa football I've seen in forever. And then we had to hang on by the skin of our teeth as we nearly blew it in the last four minutes.

I just want Ferentz to move on. Watching this offense is like watching paint dry. He's a wonderful man, but totally out of touch with today's college football. Sorry Hawks, I love you, but it's the truth.

If the Bronco defense can key on Mark Weissman and stay energized for the whole game, WMU has a very good chance on Saturday.

My thoughts exactly.

NW was as interested in playing WMU as WMU was in playing Nichols. Same start just a different outcome.

I liked WMU's effort and scheme. Didnt execute (later confirmed by Justin Currie in Mlive) and frankly better talent won.

As usual WMU will be fairly evaluated when it gets into MAC play. Right now glass is half empty. But time to right the boat. Time will tell.

Remember back in the day on BI when some flamer called out Mr. Whinny and asked if he had any balls? Hahahahaha.

Who was that? It was one of those WMU student Pro-UM b$tches. Papalips?

I liked our energy. I liked our defensive effort. I actually liked Fields game for once. Davis is incredible. HAVE to incorporate some other wide receivers somehow.

TVT is ok. Sometimes he doesn't seem assured. And I can't stand when he throws it where 3 defenders are. If 4 are rushing him, and three are covering his target...

I expect improvement over the next 2 weeks, and the team WILL fight in the MAC, hopefully winning 4 or 5.

I pretty much agree with everything you said. Last week was an abomination but I still like enough of what I've seen in 2/3 games. Seems like we have enough pieces to pick up some Ws in MACtion.

Not to bring up that Nicholls debacle again... but I honestly think that "flat" is how that team played that night in Kalamazoo. I think also that there may be a void in team leadership right now from a player perspective... quite a few new faces, and quite a few underclassmen playing roles on this team. I also think that Alex Carder was a bigger loss from last year than we may have given credit for... he was a HUGE leader on that team... even while injured and TVT heading the offense.

I don't expect this void to last for very long... as the season progresses I see that there will be a few guys that truly take on that leadership role... To be honest... I felt like that's what made Terrell so fun to watch at MSU... he seemed to have that confident swagger out there... something I just dont see from TVT.... Tyler seems to exude his confidence through is quiet demeanor... and yet he tends to look shell shocked on occasion. That ball he threw to Davis for the TD saturday night though... I think should quiet any mis-guided belief that he can't throw the long ball...
