1st round in the battle of I-10 tonight. Miners roll up to the aggies house and even up the series at 103. UTEP by 12

I don't think we will win by that much. It will be a close game.

I have faith in our front court vs slow-mo the giant and think CTF lets them run today. Their guards are solid so if they want to win it will be in the backcourt and getting back in transition.

I think the Aggies were in the tourney last year so this should be a good test for the Miners.

If they can pull of an early win, it could create some interesting momentum.

Yes, that would do wonders for your aggies.

It's a rivalry game, but I think we take it by at least 8

What worries me about tonight is that the Aggies have 3 D-1 games under their belt, while we have 1 exhibition against a D-II school and 1 glorified exhibition against an NAIA school. We'll see if we're up to real game speed or not.

Well damn. Didnt get to watch/listen but I could not have been more incorrect with my prediction.

This is the 8 man rotation I see after half of our non conference slate is complete. I can see CTF interchanging starters vs bench and playing multiple positions based on match ups as needed with the occasional sprinkling of Vint/Caldwell/Flaggert/Ragland depending on fouls and/or opportunity.

4-4 with a shot at 10-5 leading up to conference play and a conservative estimate of 12-4 in cusa leaves UTEP @ 22-9 prior to cusa tourney.

Let's see if the committee and rankings favor a multi bid league this year. I expect 2 but believe there will be 3-4 deserving bids come March.

Just an FYI

The committee will not consider UTEP's two games vs. non Division 1 opponents when determining their RPI.

Therefore, their actual current record for RPI consideration is 2-4 and your estimate would be 20-9

@coachbobcantu: UTEP current RPI is 52 and SOS is 5.

My prediction is that unless the Miners win the tournament or win the conference outright, their only chance of getting in will be 25 wins.
