This makes no sense to me. I can understand wearing your shirt and or having a bumper sticker. I can even sort of understand a antenna flag if it is just something you normally fly on your car but full flag at a game that has nothing to do with NIU? Just makes no sense to me.

1. Anytime people try and prevent fans/alum from showing school pride that bothers me
2. Maybe he isn't a fan of the others
3. Have you ever watched College Gameday? There is a Washington State flag EVERY TIME. They talk about it, it's good pub and a good talking point.
4. It's his life he can do as he pleases, that makes sense enough.

And you make no sense to me. I'm not a Gators fan. I'm not a Dawgs fan. I'm a Huskies fan and damn proud of it. I'm gonna show my Huskie pride at every college football event I go to.

Wazzu fans have a great tradition of flying their flag at every GameDay telecast. There's nothing wrong with it at all.

As I said, nothing wrong with a shirt but just flying an NIU flag just to fly it at a game where there is no connection seems a little strange to me. Is the game going to be on College Gameday? I suppose one MAY make a case for that.

With tailgating I think it's a horse of a different color, I see no problem flying the flag....BUT it is lame to go to say a Sox game wearing a Cubs hat....or a Blackhawks game wearing Bears gear...if your there to root for the team your watching...then do it, WTF would you rock other gear for?

Well, I guess I shouldn't be wearing my Bethune-Cookman and Presbyterian College gear to NIU games then.

Blech.

Haha, got the same thing living in MN. Now in AZ- and no one knows who we are. 03-banghead I'm working on it with my coworkers though, got them cheering for us vs. Iowa.

If anything, I would say the OPPOSITE. Tailgate is not being in the game and chearing for a team. If I went to LSU/Bama, I would wear LSU but fly an NIU flag if I had a chance. I fly a Bears' flag and NIU flag at Bear road games. I think it's a matter of showing support in general vs. taking a side when actually inside an event.

+1

First day of fall camp until the Bowl game...or a little longer if we win the bowl game.

The flag that is in BEER was hung for an entire year (Spring 2011-Summer 2012) and the summer sun just killed it.
