Providence Men's Hockey Ranked #9 in Pre-Season Poll.
The Friars' men's hockey team is ranked #9 in the nation in the pre-season poll at College Hockey News.

PC opens the season at home vs #10 Minnesota State for two games on October 11th. On the weekend of Oct 26th, they host #2 Miami (Ohio) for two games as well.

These non-conference games, though early, go a long way in determining NCAA bids in March. Jon Gillies is a sophomore this year, and is one of the top goalies in the country. He'll probably go pro next year... he had been drafted by Calgary in 2012.

Nice save by Gillies vs Lowell in Hockey East tourney at the new Boston Garden...!
