I'm dying to just buy a rental property in Harrisonburg so I can expense my trips to JMU.

Yeah, I rented from him on South Street. He was a great guy. I have fond memories of that place, even if it didn't have A/C and one roommate stuck me with $300 in unpaid phone bills to Indonesia.

Craig was our landlord as well. Apart from not fixing much, he was/is a great guy to rent from.

the Mill isn't ghetto yet. It's still "kickin" tho don't get me wrong it's not what it used to be. but it hasn't been taken over by, well, students still live there.

I had him as well. Good guy. Very fair and hands off as long as the rent was paid. I lived at a place called ShenRock in 1986-1987. It was across from 7-11 on South Main ( next to the white house and caddy cornered to the green house). What a great apt. No amenities to speak of, but huge rooms and a killer front porch. Sadly now, it's a CVS or Rite Aid.

I know the place you're talking about. I remember walking past it to go to parties.

Our place on South Street was the same. The rooms were almost twice the size of the breadboxes in Hunter's Ridge, and we had a fireplace. We grew to hate not having a dishwasher, though.
