All of the people who are talking mad crap, there athletic programs are nothing compared to Memphis.

One football game wont change that, wake up children.
It humbles me to see y'all get so worked up over us.
No Memphis fan cares to even mention fans of these schools who are talking crap.
Hope you enjoy the game though 03-lmfao
but just as you pointed out that one football game doesn't change much, neither does one sport

Your comparing an entire sport to my one football game comment?
A entire sport is a lot different then a singe game my friend.

I watched them play Duke. This is not the same Memphis team as last year and you are not Duke. I think it will be close and could go either way, but your overconfidence is misplaced.

Yep, Sagarin:

Duke at 71

MTSU at 111

Memphis at 127

As far as continuing any series goes, every one can speak for himself, but I think that USM-Memphis would be the preference of most Memphis fans since we've played almost continuously since 1935. There's just not much history with MTSU.

What you can't take away from Memphis is the fact it's become a national brand.

It's hard enough to be good for something a long period of time, but Memphis has gotten to the point where a Memphis basketball game will garner national interest regardless of the who what where when or why.

Not to mention (as Tiger fans gleefully like to remember) in the days of d'angelo Williams the Liberty Bowl was consistently 40k+. I don't think they're too far off from that again, but certainly a lot of work to do to get the on field success back.

Man that is low! Can you get more arrogant than Memphis State? Anyway, please beat the crap out of them.

Honest question, how is OldTiger arrogant? I think TOGC and BossMan have been banned for forever and sans those two, I don't think Memphis fans are above average in being arrogant. But carpet bomb the whole fanbase if you insist.

From a person standpoint, I have bent over backwards for years to be polite and respectful here, especially after our departure was announced. And specifically with MTSU, I have given props multiple times.

Congrats to LA Tech's membership in C-USA. I think you'll enjoy it and won't be missing those trips to San Joes and Fresno. 04-cheers

I understand how you feel. Many USM, UAB, and Marshall folks wasn't sold on UTSA or the F_U's additions.

After 6 years you are not rebuilding. You are what you are. A basketball school with a bad football program. Nothing wrong with that. I often wonder if memphis wouldnt be better off if they dropped football altogether. It actually brings down your preception in athetics compared to a Gonzaga or other similar programs
Of course your basketball team having to vacate its most successful moments doesn't help but either way it's time to stop calling it rebuilding. You are we thought you were.

We hear the same things from Memphis fans every year when this game comes around.

The one game they've won in the series was the sloppiest game I've ever seen MT play in my time as an MT fan.

Both sides will talk trash but in the end we'll drill them. I expect us to run circles around their defense and for our D to have their best game of the season.

I honestly don't think it will be pretty at all.

Memphis football has been historically mediocre, but these past 4-5 years have been way below our average quality. Y'all did well to catch us during this period, and you certainly took advantage. Full credit to MTSU.

Personally I'd like to keep playing MTSU and Arkansas State because I think we are trending back up and I'd like the chance to get our share of the wins in these series. Same with UAB, who has owned us over the years. But I like the OOC games we have scheduled in the future, and I can see how those will help our program.

Jeb and juggoman still stinging from having their annual pre-season fluff banquet cancelled? Or is it the TV start time thingy?

Those two are gonna have to get over it.

We will rotate Austin Peay and UT-Martin as our yearly FCS opponet...

We have contracts with Tennessee, Mississippi, UCLA, Kansas, Mizzou, and BGSU.

We had a deal with Miami (FL) but they backed out and BGSU picked up the contract.

By your standards we never should have gone to 5 bowls in 6 seasons...but we did (2003-2008)...we never should have had a player with Heisman talk...but we did (DeAngelo)

No reason we can't get back to being a 6-9 win football program that brings 40,000 to their games.

I'm hoping for a good, clean game where the best team wins. If it is Memphis....Awesome. If it is MTSU, I will tap my hat and congratulate them like a reasonable adult who doesn't harbor any unhealthy animosity towards the opposing program for any perceived slight based on the poor performance of the previous coaching regime.

We have not done the things we are doing now when it comes to "rebuilding". You're wrong. Memphis is taking strides its never done before to help the football. I wouldn't be surprised if Memphis takes y'all out saturday. That'll show you all that we're serious, and if we don't then thats fine. Getting better will have conflicts through it, we're not going to just pop up and be amazing again. Its going to be a process. In your eyes this process has been going on for 6 years. No, its been going on for just one. And this year its really kicking into gear if you ask me.

So your wrong on that behalf, BUT.
Lets just say your right about the whole "Memphis is only a basketball school statement"

At least we have a legitimate nationally recognized team.
Something MTSU will never have with its simply mediocre sports teams.
We actually have a core sport that we preform amazing in, like i said a nationally recognized team and brand.

MTSU is just basic, theres tons of colleges that preform like you.
