Looked like he got popped on a nerve. It certainly wasn't dislocated....

With the way he fell, I thought it was a collar bone at first

Article in RTD - Yes, Birdsong was hurt in the Akron game. He rolled his ankle and has been in a boot this week. He is ready to go this weekend, though. Article talks a bit about the poor officiating as well.
