Depends on what your definition of "loaded" is. Only time will tell, but I don't think Rutgers will ever be more than a middle of the road B1G team. Rutgers didn't get picked to join the B1G because they dominated the Big Least for so many years, but more so because they wanted to try to gain that east coast TV market.

lol think what you want... my definition of loaded is 4 stars all over... we are finally keeping the jersey kids home... (before the big ten news) but now we are getting 4, 5, 6 top jersey players at their positions.. not just 1 or 2..... we will take our licks in the B1G as you will take yours on saturday.... it shouldnt be close.... if it should i would say so lol... good luck regardless....

My team will probably do just fine against Idaho on Saturday, but thanks for the kind words. I'd love to see a MAC team beat Rutgers two years in a row.

I am hopeful that this week that we play as hard agains RU as we did against Penn State. We were in the game for 3 qts and then the defense tried out and then the score got outta hand...

I am thinking that we will score some points after Parrish make some adjustments to the offense and I think the defense will get better as the season go along.. I am looking for a close game, and maybe a win on Saturday.

I am sitting here smiling and thinking what would this do for the EMU football program and the the huge meaning that it would have toward the game against Ball State @ home..

Agreed....

The difference this weekend will be a greater chance to score against Rutgers' D - Penn State's defense kept EMU out of the redzone/endzone. The score will be closer than last week, but a near-perfect effort will be required to make it a game. No misfires on scoring opportunities.

I'm anticipating a similar gameplan on both sides of the ball - maybe more runs by Hill/Jackson instead of short passes. Need to keep the Rutgers defense honest with more moderate/deep balls. RE called a decent game on defense, with fatigue and lack of offense scores taking its toll at the end.

So long as Benz gets the time the crossing routes, esp. w. Russell worked very well even vs. PSU.

No reason for them not to work against RU.

I too liked the game English called. There was a lot of blitzes, etc. etc. and as indicated if the offense can control the ball better, and fatigue not be an issue, our defense can be respectable.

As I have been saying in a number of posts, our starting 11 on defense are not bad. We need more depth at LB and some on the DL, but the starting 11 isn't a sieve like in some recent years.

I've become a big fan of Kashama, Maughmer, O'Connor, etc. and like Kurtz, Matt and Spearman at LB. The DBs are the deepest group on the defense.

Matt has been a pleasant surprise. I wasn't a big fan of his play last year but he seems much, much better. Spearman didn't play much last year and is getting to be a solid defender.

Isn't it amazing what a year in the program can do for a sophomore!!

Matt is tackling 100% better and Spearman looks ripped in his Twitter photos.

D-Line is clearly improved. Hope we see more pressure this week.

Hunter Matt - what a great name!! He put some muscle on since last year. I though he was undersized, but not so much now...
