Let's just win the next one. The players know better than any of us how bad it feels to lose, and they want to win even more than the oldest, most beaten down fans posting here.

I oughta know, I'm one of them.

RE: Northwestern State-- Next up
The bottom line is power teams will throttle most non-power teams, especially at home - check out the scores. Add to that a top power team from the top power conference and last night is what happens. Its nothing to hang your head over as long as you played your best. Things have to go perfectly to even come close to winning a game like last night. Time to move to the next game, then to the next, and then the CUSA season starts. Nothing has changed regarding my feeling that we can win CUSA(there are no LSUs in CUSA). We just have to get to the conference season healthy and will a positive attitude. We have problems but so do others. We have to fix what we can and try it again the next week. We are further handicapped by playing four different types of offenses in 4 weeks making defensive changes tricky. Keep moving toward the ultimate goal of winning CUSA. We all want wins and we could easily get those with scheduling like some schools do with their OOC schedule. We are not is the best position to do that. It is what it is. So, let's keep movin'...

"Destructive criticism" only make the critic feel better by taking his shot at the players / coaches. "Constructive criticism" makes the both of them feel better because it shows how improvements can be made for the future. It is one of the things teaching is all about.

Well we are watching some of their negative garbage.

no one is forcing you.

He really posted that?!? Honestly, I'm impressed that it's been so long since he posted something that offensive.

So, I'm guessing the standard is if players and coaches don't perform to our expectations any and all comments are fair game? Can we find out where their families sit at home games and drive them to tears like we did in Callaway's last year? They deserve it, right?

This isn't pee-wee football or little league baseball where everybody gets a trophy even if their batting average is .000 and they lose every game.

Should fans be hateful or lob personal attacks? No, but I don't recall anyone doing that lately.

This recent push to make this place more like the DPRK is not helpful. If the program can't take criticism and alumni that pour their time and money and are constantly begged for *more* time and money can't share their feelings, then what's the point.

I'm glad we are getting an off week. This will give the team time to prepare for NW State's ground attack, and get our confidence back up. Northwestern State does seem to be a pretty good team........much better than the SE Louisiana team we played last year.

We need to work a lot on our ground game too.

I agree but we aren't doing too bad. Reaves is averaging 100 yards per game through the first two games which of course includes LSU. I imagine he will get some 200 yard games as we get into CUSA play.

I just checked the box score from both of NW State's games, and they actually throw the ball quite a bit........a lot more passing yards than rushing yards.

Based on our 1st two games, I'm sure they'll (try to) pass a lot against us, too.

I was listening to sirius xm this morning can't remember the station and one of the dj's is a UAB graduate. After the song that was playing went off he said, "My alma mater UAB got there a** whooped last night. But thats ok, thats still my school and I completely support them."

Back to the thread topic ...

Let me be clear about this. UAB will beat Northwestern State by 3+ TD's. NWS is a below-average FCS team. They were 4-7 last year. Three of their four wins (over FCS opponents Arkansas-Monticello, Lamar, and Nicholls State) came by seven points or less. Their little two-game winning streak will be exposed this week against Cincinnati.

Cincinnati will be mad coming off that beatdown by Illinois.

Until our defense figures out how to stop the pass, no game is a guaranteed win. Period.

It's been our primary weakness on defense for years now! Frustrating!

The best way to improve the secondary is to put intense pressure on the QB.

Also we recruit scraps from Alabama who aren't near as good as scraps from Loiusiana.

JJ Green- Florence
Nick Jackson- Wenonah
Greg McLin- Tanner

Also we recruit scraps from Alabama who aren't near as good as scraps from Loiusiana.

Oh, one more nugget ...

Northwestern State was 2-5 in the FCS Southland Conference last year.

Southeast Louisiana was 5-2.

3+ TD's. You heard it here first.
