Miami had 36 total yards on it's final 11 possessions in the final 3 quarters. They only had 14 total possessions. They never crossed midfield again after the 1st quarter.

Miami had 11 possessions go for 4 yards or less. They had 5 go for negative yardage.

UF on the other hand crossed midfield 8 times on their 14 possessions. UF doubled the number of yards Miami had.

UF had 22 first downs. Miami had 10.

UF was 6-15 on 3rd down. Miami was 1-11.

Duke Johnson had another crappy game rushing the ball against a real defense. Stephen Morris had a < 50% completion percentage. Jeff Driskell damn near passed for 300 yards and completed 67% of his passes.

UF had plenty of faults in the game, but truthfully, Miami did almost nothing right. They were lucky to win the game. I'm glad Miami won as I wanted to see an SEC team lose and the fact that it was UF made it exponentially sweeter. But I'm also getting a great deal of joy out of the Miami fans saying nonsense like, "We crushed the Gators" and "We're back, baby!"

We were lucky to win but we WON. It was a hard-fought game with lots of terrible offense by the Canes and good defense by the Canes. The end result was a win. Stats don't really matter per game, the result does. I'm glad to finally get an admittance that you are glad Miami won out of you! Thanks for that. Now you guys have to beat them too.

It was nice win over UF, however I am not ready to stated that the THE U is back. UF DEfense pretty much held our offense in check, do not know if it got to due with the playcalling. Our defense made plays that was a big factor in the game, however UF did marched or was in the red zone when those turnovers happened. Overall UF did beat us in every stat but the scoreboard. I am excited about the win, i need to see more.

1. As long as you admit that you won in large part due to luck.

2. You did win, correct.

3. There was a lot of terrible offense by Miami, yes. But there was a lot of terrible defense by Miami, too. (Come on, man! They moved the ball down your throat all day but kept stepping on their own d*cks at the most inopportune times.)

4. Stats absolutely matter. To say otherwise is 100% naive and foolish. You cannot consistently play poorly and expect to luck into a win. That's an incredibly ridiculous thing to think. If stats don't matter, you should also be of the opinion that Miami has nothing to work on these next few weeks since you won and that's obviously all that matters. Am I right? I mean, you literally just said Miami was "lucky to win". And then you followed it up with "stats don't really matter". 03-lmfao

5. I am glad that I get to laugh at the delusional Miami fans after this game. (Not all Miami fans are delusional but the majority I run into appear to be.)

You seem very reasonable. Agree with everything you said. 04-cheers

You are one of the few FSU fans who I've talked to who has complained so much about our win. I know you hate UM, but still... And yes - stats don't really matter, what matters is the win. We were lucky to win, that is correct. But we won... That's what really matters. Errors can be fixed and things can be improved, but we came out of that game with a win, and the only thing that matters when it's December, Miami's (hypothetically) 12-0, and the ACC-CG is about to kick off is the record. Right?

What are you even trying to say? That we aren't any good? Well, we won the game and we have room to improve, it's true. But what counts in the end - like I've said - is that WIN on the schedule.

I'm not complaining in the least. I'm pointing out that Miami played like crap and was lucky as hell to beat a team that outplayed them nearly the entire game.

How you guys liking James Coley?

This is what I am saying too. The Miami is back talk from this game is just hilarious to me. Both teams played like garbage. If they played like that vs a competent team, they would both get crushed.

I wanted to Miami to win. That is the only matchup where I would hope for a Miami win. Florida is the bigger rival and Florida is the one most FSU fans hate the most. I also wanted Miami to win because it is Florida that is ending the series and I am hoping they lose to Miami as much as possible before they take a long break.

My assessment of the game, is that UF is not a well rounded team to make an accurate evaluation. They have a great defense and bad offense. So looking at the game, their defense held our offense in check for the most part and their offense did had success moving the ball on our defense. Fortunately for us their offense turn the ball over at the worst times, which I do give credit to our defense for coming up with the turnovers.

I just want to see our defense go against an established offense, to make accurate evalution. So far our offense need to get in gear, because UF held us in check, it is funny because the defense bailed them out.

I think that FSU wins, but that game could be epic. There are some great conference story lines this year:

FSU - CU and FSU - Miami could very well get elite ratings

and, there's strong regional interest in SU and Pitt, given it's our first season in conference, especially if we stop looking like deer in headlights.

It would be really nice if VT finds a way to make a run this year, generating interest in the mid-Atlantic and giving Miami a run for their money.

I was totally feeling like 03-puke in the game. After some thought it's transitioned more into 03-banghead.

The biggest issue I see right now? Not Coley, but Morris. He played like absolute crap against UF - we were lucky to win with his terrible decision making. Hopefully he improves.

Miami didn't play like crap over ALL positions, it was mostly Morris and the offense. The D gave up too many yards but they made turnovers happen so that's why we won or at least a big part of it. Oh, and let me say that other than the blocked punt our punter looked really, REALLY good. I wouldn't say the []_[] is necessarily TRULY back (we're just back into the talk of the town now that we actually beat someone good). Give it a NC before that can be said. 04-cheers

RE: Way to go 'Canes!
I lived in Miami in the 1960's and was a big fan of George Mira and the 'Canes. Went to practices with My Dad. I Was a charter member of the Velda Farms Dairy Miami Dolphin huddle club in 1966. Lots of Hurricane fans signed up to welcome the new AFL to town. Football was king in Miami then. Sandlot baseball and football were the norm at every elementary, jr high and high school in south Florida. Hope the return to exciting times comes back to Miami.
