College Football, Week 2
UH has six trips in the red zone and no TDs vs. Temple. 5 Field Goals and a turnover.

But it looks like the freshman O'Korn has taken over from Piland. UH has 500 yards of offense.

They may lose to Temple, but we will not have a material advantage at QB when we play the Coogs.

Piland isn't any good. O'Korn is talented, but green. If I were Houston, I'd just go with O'Korn...not only is he obviously the future, but it also seems like he gives them the best chance to win now

Tulane had come back to take a lead but USA has scored twice since then and leads by 8 with a bit over 6 minutes to go. Utah State is destroying Air Force on the road (something like 52-13). I had a major issue with any preseason publication that ranked Air Force ahead of us. If you don't think Rice is going to be good, that's fine. But there is no way any expert can predict Air Force to be better than Rice based on the bowl result last year.

And Joe Montana's boy Nick throws an interception with a minute to go at the 3. That might do it for South Alabama.

In the second half AFA's defense looks as lost as it did against us in the second half in Fort Worth. Looks like a coaching change soon at AFA.

Actually they reversed the interception call and Tulane scored a TD. But they missed the 2 point conversion. Now they need an onside kick.

ETA - no dice on the onside kick. USA wins 41-39.

North Texas allows a 75 yd TD pass on first play of game to Ohio.

I remember when we used to do that.

I'm watching Kansas-South Dakota on ESPN3. Kansas looks improved (although South Dakota's defense is surprisingly good).

Charlie Weis looks like he's gained a few pounds since last year.

South Dakota scores to take a 7-0 lead. I may have to revise my thoughts on Kansas although I'm telling you South Dakota doesn't look like a team that was 1-10 last year (and the Missouri Valley Conference in football might actually be superior to CUSA this year).

UTSA looks like they've focused all their efforts on the offensive side. We'd better score a lot of points when we play them.

28 pts in the 4th Q though smacks a bit of garbage points.

Indiana has apparently never seen the triple option as Navy is running all over them leading 31-14 with 3 minutes gone in the 2ndQ.

Glad Charles Sims transferred out of UofH and we don't have to face him anymore. He's running well for West Virginia. How did he avoid having to sit out a year?

I believe he graduated (I know hard to believe a UH football player actually went to class) and still had eligibility left.

Was that even necessary Tiki? There are plenty of UH players that have graduated and are very successful and Sims is one of them.
