I do think we should make some upgrades to WCF. Replace the bleachers with real permanent seating, build a restroom and concession stand instead of port o potties and a tent, and replace the scoreboard with something similar to what baseball and softball have.

Good post.

UAB soccer deserves a stadium. The AD should go ahead and get the ball rolling so that in 2-3 years we get approval to start raising money to eventually build it.

Good post.
Well, I know when I read a post, and someone suggests something in one statement, followed immediately by another statement qualified as, "In all seriousness though," methinks the first statement was NOT meant seriously. So, I believe that the whoring of UAB soccer was not seriously betokened.
My guess would be that said poster in this case did in fact need the blue font.

While I don't disagree, I think Blazer fans are as aware as anyone that "deserving" a stadium doesn't have a damn thing to do with anything.

Easy there Seabiscuit. No one is whoring soccer. I think most of us were saying that in jest. I am against mixing the soccer and football fields. It drives the site lines further away and creates more scheduling headaches. As far a facilities the upcoming capitol campaign will not just benefit football but all athletics. I look for each program to get certain needs.

WCF was never meant to be a permanent home for soccer... the last two master plans had a soccer facility in it. I'm assuming Getman has let Mackin know exactly what our soccer program needs and it will be taken care of during the new, university-wide fundraising campaign.

UAB Men's Soccer has a solid foundation and a great leader in Getman... soccer-specific, permanent facilities will keep UAB at a high level.
