NFL I just don't see the local channels allowing Fox(and CBS on CBSSN) to do that.... just not realistic. Also, that little thing called Sunday NFL ticket would prohibit that.

The deal for Sunday Ticket is expiring soon and rumor has it that Directv won't be bidding again. Speculation is that Google.tv will be a major player for those rights. Now, if FS1 and Google teamed up, it could be interesting.

ESPN contract with Dish is up at the end of the month. I'm sure they will work something out but interesting nonetheless.

yeah. big thing there would be will they get the Watch ESPN app finally.

I'd be shocked if DirecTV doesn't renew Sunday Ticket. You don't volunteer to drop the NFL. If they dropped the NFL, they would lose maybe half their subscriber base quite frankly...

Well it might be about not being able to afford to get it. Companies with much deeper pockets are going to be coming for that property.

SB Nation article on Fox's "gamble" on the Big East. Not sure this guy knows how Omaha supports Creighton. We do not play second-fiddle in Omaha during basketball season. Also, interesting that FS1 is outdrawing ESPNU and NBC Sports Network. I think that's pretty decent. I don't think we can expect FS1 to outdraw ESPN or ESPN2 for awhile.

Will Fox Sports 1 be televising any Big East soccer games this Fall?

Also, with sports properties--
I know that NBCSN has rights to the English Premier League, taking it from Fox Soccer. But are the Spanish League ("Superliga"), Italian ("Serie A"), French ("Championnat") and/or German ("Bundesliga") national leagues still open for the taking? At this point, I can find German matches on GOL TV. I can't find any Spanish, Italian or French matches.

There is a new channel called beIN(affiliate of Al Jazeera) that holds the rights to the Spanish, Italian and French domestic leagues. I fell into this info when I was looking for the US WC qualifier on TV a few nights ago.

1 thing about the Sunday Ticket.. Even if they don't renew with DirecTV, they will have it out there. Whoever owns it won't allow games from it to be aired on FS1 or CBSSN.

Also, the network affiliates won't allow games to be aired elsewhere like that. Just won't happen.

FS1 will not have any NFL games on their channel until 2022 at the earliest, unless the NFL puts up it's Thursday night games up for grabs from it's own network. That most likely doesn't happen.

DirecTV will never "give up" the NFL Sunday Ticket....now in 2014, they might lose the bid because the cost is way to high...but one of the options they have already leaked is to agree to a non-exclusive deal with the NFL (i.e. NFL Sunday Ticket be allowed on several outlets, i.e. DirecTV, Google, etc...).

This way, NFL can actually expand their audience (i.e. more subscribers will end up with the NFL Sunday Ticket), which means they can charge more for advertising, etc....

With Satellite and Cable subscribers either flat or declining for basically the first time in 3-4 decades...tv providers will have to think of ways of keeping users "plugged in"...as more and more are pulling the plug for paid tv use.

totally agree with you. The thing is, games won't be coming to FS1 or CBSSN anytime soon. There will be some sort of Sunday Ticket package and that will preclude the availability of games going to FS1 or CBSSN.
