Florida Game - Reality check on My View
Here's what I said to look for and what happened:

What to Look For:

• 60/40 play calling; 60% runs to 40% passes from the Gators with at least 60% passes to 40% runs for the Rockets
o Rockets ran the ball 16 times while passing 38 making it a 70/30 while the Gators about 69/31 running
• The Gators to have more flags and penalty yardage than the Rockets
o 10 flags for 70 yards for UF while UT has four penalties for 45 yards (one delay of game was called by Coach Campbell to give Vince Penza more room to punt)
• Few turnovers by either team; Florida turnover on a fumble and a Rockets receiver tipping a pass for an INT
o Florida lost one of their two fumbles both caused by Rockets getting to Driskel in the backfield; Rockets had one fumble on a gawd awful fourth down scrum and TO threw an INT which was not tipped
• Rockets to run significant hurry up offense limiting Florida’s defensive substitutions
o With limited effectiveness – Gators had just one flag for illegal substitution
• Four Toledo receivers with four or more receptions each
o Only Bernard Reedy had more than four receptions (seven) with three Rockets having three catches each: Fluellen, Macon, and Russell
• Rockets to win the special team matchups but it will be close
o Vince Penza was the better punter averaging nearly 46 yards per punt with three of his seven kicks landing inside the 20 yard line; the Gators had the edge in punt and kickoff returns with the Rockets Jeremiah Detmer hitting both of his field goal attempts while UF’s Hardin made one of two. Rockets special team gets the edge as they produced points.
• Limited punt return yardage for both teams
o Yep
• WR Trey Burton to take direct snaps at QB mostly on running plays but he can pass
o Burton ran the ball twice for a net one yard – well defended by the Rockets
• Rockets OL, primarily LT Josh Hendershot and C Zack Kerin, to have their hands full with DT Dominique Easley; look for #2 to loop to the middle from right side of the field on the pass rush
o The entire front line was a real challenge for UT’s OL
• Rockets ground attack will favor their left side
o Yes but with limited success; I think Fuellen’s 28 yard run and TO’s nine yard run were both to the left side
• WR Solomon Patton on flanker sweep
o For a 17 yard gain on a third down play
• Florida DBs to keep the Rockets receivers in front of them trying to limit pass completion to no more than five yard per catch
o Yes with at least two drops in that range caused by hard hits
• Rockets using TE or FB as lead back in two back formation with TO under center
o Both happened
• Few if any read/option runs by Jeff Driskel limiting his contact
o Nope, he played his normal game
• QB Driskel to show off his baseball slide on scrambles and any designed runs unlike Huskie Jordan Lynch or Cowboy Brett Smith
o While he did not take a mega hit he did not shy away from contact
• Driskel to miss high on his incompletions
o His throws were not high; he looked better than last year by not locking onto a single target
• Both QBs to take a sack
o Both had two sacks
• Florida to use bump and man coverage on the edges with CBs Purifoy and Roberon
o Purifoy didn’t play but Roberon matched up on Alzono in man-to-man outside coverage
• The play of two of the nation’s top collegiate centers
o Both were impressive
• Five and six Gator DBs deployed to slow up the Rockets passing offense
o Yep and it worked
• Attention being paid to Purifoy coming off the Rockets left end when Penza punts and Detmer attempts a field goal
o Didn’t play and Rockets special team did a great job blocking for on field goals and punts
