The last day of summer for the Northern Hemisphere is the day of the autumn equinox, or the day the sun's illusionary path in the sky is right over the equator.

2013 Autumnal Equinox: September 22, 4:44 P.M. EDT

Last day of summer in 2013 is September 22.

I always thought the day before the autumnal equinox was considered the last day of summer.

Is admission that the Carr report i.e. 1A is on the agenda at a BOV meeting a first? This is a good. There is near zero chance that this admission leads to a Carr report that disses 1A or the 1A conference(s) that are known to have invite intentions.

The senate mentioned seems points to some real communication in Oct 2013. A conference losing a school is interrupted regardless of timing, is it conceivable JMU announces during football season? I get the CAA has to be respected and timing is a variable. Some posters believe that on or near the Charlotte game date is possible, is it?

Last day of summer is Sat, Sept 21, day of UNCC game.

Actually, this year it falls on the 22nd.

No, 1st day of fall is the 22nd. Last day of summer is the 21st. Check your calendar.

If it involves a recommendation to administration to move to a higher conference then that would be the best time to publicize it, given UNCC also in transition to FBS. But then again we also have to get the conference logistics worked out first. *Nudges CUSA*

That's how it works. Like a baton exchange and the exchange happens at 4:44 P.M. EDT.

Yeah, I understood that the seasons didn't change at the stroke of midnight or whatever. I think that when most people refer to the last day of a season, though, they really mean the last full day of the season.

The last FULL day of summer is September 21st. On the 22nd you have 16 3/4 hours of summer and 7 1/4 hours of fall. So there is no way the last complete day of summer is on the 22nd (not a full 24 hours). However, it is true that summer does end on the 22nd.

At least we can all agree to be glad that David Carr has nothing to do with the Carr report.
