What in the world is that logo supposed to be on the side of Akron's helmets? Looks like a piece of sh*t with ears.

Exactly. And the guy wearing #95 getting ready to sack the zipper head QB is saying "Hey Mom! Watch me! I'm flying!"

RE: JMU @ Akron predictions
Looking at the game notes, Akron's size advantage is not that great. They do not have the overwhelming size of a recent UNC or WVU. Even though I think they are stupid, Coach Matthews is saying all the right things in his press conferences this week so as to not give Akron any bulletin board material. However, him calling Akron a good football team is a joke. Any team that averages one win a year over the previous three seasons in the MAC is not a good football team. Wouldn't you all believe that we could win more than one game a year playing in the MAC right now? Coach Matthews said that Akron will be the best team we play this year, that statement will be false if we make the FCS playoffs.
With all that said, even though we have a lot of question marks from our end going into this game. I cannot pick against us to lose this game.
JMU 35
Akron 27
As I stated in another thread, if we lose this game and it would not surprise me if we did, it proves we will not likely be a great team this year nor will we do much should we even make the playoffs. Oh yeah and the fact that we lost to Akron!

Call me a homer, but I'm going with the following (in OT):
Zips 37
Dukes 34
Safe travel to all making the trip to Akron and good luck the rest of the season!

Okay...let me put it to you this way.
Have you ever known a bulldog named "Duke"? Or, even if you haven't, but a friend said to you, "Hey! I just got a new dog, he's a bulldog and I named him Duke" you'd think that's normal, right?
Now, here's the telling question 24...have you ever known a kangaroo? And if so, what was his or her name?

RE: JMU @ Akron predictions
Love to pick the Dukes, but I was unimpressed last week on both sides of the ball (although very impressed with the punting unit considering how everyone thought it would be a total disaster). I also think if Akron puts up 10 quick points that Mickey will pressure O'Cain to close the playbook and just concede defeat and prevent injuries.
20 extra schollies and a home field advantage is going to be hard to overcome as well. I think the Zips win 28-17.

We have almost more students at our games than they do in total attendance. I'm not sure it'll be much of a homefield advantage.
Just thinking about it, this should be a game we can win outright. But the 2008 version of JMU was outstanding and somehow got blown out by Duke, so who knows.

Duke would also crush this Akron team...even Duke back in 08 would probably cruise against these guys.
