Congrats to Clemson.

Need to tighten up that defense though.

Avoided the sweep. Sucks for Georgia fans that UGA screwed up that kick.

I remember when Clemson beat Nebraska in the 1982 Orange Bowl and won the AP/UPI national championship, their players/fans were chanting that on the field after the game. The ACC had only 8 teams in those days:

Clemson
Duke
Georgia Tech
Maryland
North Carolina
N.C. State
Virginia
Wake Forest

And a lot of observers felt that Clemson's schedule was too weak to deserve consideration as #1, even though they were the only 12-0-0 team in Div, I-A that year. I remember Wofford was one of their OOC games that season. Also that they rung up 82 points on Wake Forest, even though Clemson's offense wasn't that good and they won with their defense/special teams.

Yep, congratulations Tiger fans. I thought the two teams were almost mirror images of one another. But Clemson made less mistakes and deserved to win.

Hmm, they beat 4th ranked SEC champion Georgia that year. They beat the best and 9th ranked UNC team of the last 50 years and they beat 4th ranked and Big 8 champion Nebraska. They did play Wofford that year. Three top 10 wins. I wonder who was complaining?
