We were all fully expecting UNT to score points until the scoreboard quit, at 99 or 999 or 256 or whatever. Better call Encyclopedia Britannica.

Are you stoned?

No, but I'm running out of reasons not to be.

Other USM fans please close your eyes:

Andre just because your team is f-ing horrible, again this year, doesn't mean you have to be a dickhead to everyone else. Your elitist attitude towards fans of teams that have already surpassed your team in week 1 of our new conference shows that you aren't even smart enough to realize that you need these teams to carry your sorry asses along as you seem to have lost the torch.

You openly root against your conference mates. They have every right to pile on you for dropping the ball (six times) for the second season in a row, yet they show compassion and encouragement. Newsflash! You aren't better than the teams who have your contempt. You may get a lot worse before you get better. You are the SJ of USM fans. Not even your own team's fans want you around. Either get on board with your team's station in college football or go root for someone else. We don't need or want you.

I'm clinging to my loyalty to USM as hard as I can because I remember where we were and I know that the good people of south Mississippi need USM to be what it was and more. And I KNOW we can still get there.

As for the suburban hellholes that our incompetence has allowed into our midst, well, I wish them nothing but the absolute worst, and if I have to send my entire paycheck directly to our AD and watch 130 losses, I will GLADLY do it because the laws of justice DEMAND that, and more.

Yeah you know what, don't wait for those reasons... Toke it up buddy.

I'll choose to ignore the troll and enjoy this victory even though it was Idaho.

I am anxiously awaiting Ohio, that will be a real test. If we can hang with them then I will believe we are on track for 6 or more wins this year. We have a lot more guys who can play FBS football, we are close.

Unless things changed since last year, that just might be about the only way they get to see/hear the Vandals. Live.

Great win for UTSA too! It's hard being a NT alum in San Antonio, but I may take in a few UTSA games just to see some CUSA West action.

RE: North Texas 40 - Idaho 6
We have 8 NCAA FBS level transfers, better recruiting than given credit (ask our former conference-mate Boise State about their lightly regarded recruiting classes in the past) and a very hungry football team ready to get us back to our golden era ways of winning football that which actually began in the beginning of the modern era of NCAA D1 in the 50's.

This Fall, I see a .500 team or 1 win above it and a new string of "W" seasons from here on out. McCarney really seems to have it going on, his Friday Night Lights junior and senior days are now bringing close to 500 Texas HS recruits (and their parents) to Apogee Stadium and it couldn't have come at a better time in our 100 years of playing NCAA football.

3 (out of our 4) NFL #1 draft choice players of the past were at the game last night celebrating our 100 years of playing football and it was hotter than hell at kick-off as in 104 degrees.

After 8 losing seasons we still have a great fan base of about 22,000 for which to build onto and winning will add so many more fans. (Funny thing is had we played Texas Tech with their traveling fans we would have probably had 35,000 fans at Apogee last night--so amazing how that works when you play schools with traveling fans).
