We are #1 is a computer ranking that is only using two games as data.

We were also #1 a few weeks ago when the season first started, well tied for #1 with every other team in the ranking.

It means nothing at this point.

I'm more impressed by the #18 or #25 ranking right now.

Might want to get there early. Based on other games we've had against high-profile opponents, I wouldn't be surprised if this one was standing room only.

Thanks! Looks like I'm going to make it. I'm also getting up early Saturday to drive to Baton Rouge for the LSU game. It's going to be a great weekend.

At least we are #1.

I can't believe anyone would bemoan being ranked #1 in any positive way....oh wait this is...nevermind

I was thinking the same thing Jay. This poll had us ranked fairly high to begin with. It's not like there are 50,000 independent polls out there that rank college soccer. It's impressive, and obviously all the polls seem to think UAB is a decent team this year.

I'm not "bemoaning" it. Just clarifying that you cant take a computer ranking serious this early. The team is doing great and I hope it continues but recognize it for what it is.

A soccer season isn't 30 games long. The season is almost an eighth of the way complete now, not including the conference tournament, which you actually have to make in this conference. We all know that these are early numbers, but they do mean a little something. Of course they mean the most when the season is over, just like any other CPU numbers.

I didn't know whether this a poll or a computer ranking until I researched it. Again I was not trashing the ranking, just sharing what I learned: that it is not a major ranking and too early to mean much.

Had it been a poll of voters, it would mean more than a computer ranking with little data.

We trash Bama fans for claiming a bajillion national titles. Lets not do the same thing with a early season little known computer ranking.

We aren't claiming an f'ing national title. What the hell kind of jump is that? A poll has UAB listed #1. It's cool, it doesn't happen often. And how do you know how recognized this computer ranking is?

Diego Navarette C-USA Offensive POTW. Also gotta give props to Fort Payne native Freddy Ruiz for scoring 3 goals this weekend. He's off to a great start to his sophomore season.
