RE: Coaching
When the opposing quarterback completes 30 of 32 passes and sets a NCAA record for completion percentage, you are going to lose. Every. Single. Time.

That speaks to a defense that is either incompetent or completely outmatched. Given it was Troy we were playing, I have to assume it's the incompetent part. And that's the fault of the coaching staff.

RE: Coaching
I don't think the 3-4 looked that good at all. It did turn Jake Ganus into a beast. Did anyone besides him make a tackle?05-stirthepot Jimmy Jean looked a little soft at corner sometimes. We made a few stops on the goaline with it. Won't work well against LSU for sure. Their linemen vs. our LBs = a long night trying to stop the run. If they don't find something that works, might as well go back to the 4-3 or a 4-2-5. We need to rush atleast 4 for pressure anyway. Then you bring in Rabb off one end. McGee's coaching (good or bad) and the offense won't save the season, the D will. Better fix it quick.

You don't kick an onside kick when you have a 14 point lead! Football not 101 but 001. Ask any coach, except McGee and his staff.

Yeah, totally ignore the piss poor defense, the 13 for 100+ yards penalties, and the piss poor time management. It was the onside kick.
The onside kick killed a little thing called MOMENTUM..not to mention the 3 point swing was the 3 points we needed to win the football game. Onside kick wasn't the sole reason we lost but was a huge swing. Coaching was piss poor.

I feel sorry for the players becAuse they played good enough to win even with the penalties and defensive miscues. We don't know how to win is the main problem plain and simple.

That's BS.

Whose to say they wouldn't have scored on that drive anyway. We screamed and yelled because the previous two coaches were too conservative. I'm glad he takes chances. He was using the momentum we had and the surprise of an onsides kick at that point. Had it worked, he would have been hailed as genius.

The players didn't play well enough to win in the 4th quarter when they gave up a 14 point lead by chop blocking, holding and poor tackling.

And the way you win is taking risks, tackling, and don't make stupid penalties.

I dunno how many games UAB will win, but dang will it be interesting watching it all unfold.

Well remember McGee and Johnson switched to the 3-4 to stop CUSA opponents. So don't expect an apology from them when LSU blows it up.

And before someone says McGee doesn't owe the fans an apology, give it a rest. I'm being a smartass.

RE: Coaching
I thought at times our D looked so scared of giving up big pass plays that they decided to just leave the short passes wide open. It happened so often I have to assume that was part of the coaches' gameplan. Leaving all of those short passes wide open means you are never going to have pressure on the QB, though. Ganus got in the backfield a couple of times when the Troy QB tried to hold it for a deep throw.

On the few times the D was in the correct position to stop the screen, they whiffed on the tackle and let a 2 yard gain become 7 or 8.

270 lbs DT's and 215 lbs LB's will get crushed against teams like LSU. If the D doesn't improve I want to see J Williams as DC next year along with a 4 down linemen base. I do think this years D could improve when we start to use more of our depth. No Smith ,Alston ,Ejike or McCollum last game when McGee talked so highly of them when they signed.
