McNeese has been playing football for 70+ years and has a proud tradition at the FCS level. They are part of the football-crazy deep south culture, meaning I expected they'd come to Tampa and try to win, not just cash their check. I feared that if we didn't take them seriously we could be in some trouble, but i never, ever, imagined anything like this.

The rankings in FBS... 124-USF, 123-UConn...

Yup "the American" is worthy of "power 5" status.

The largest margin of victory by an FCS school over an FBS school happened in 1991 when Boise St (then FCS) beat Cal St.-Long Beach (then FBS) 48-14.

USF's loss to McNeese St is the second largest margin of victory ever for an FCS team.

I think I read somewhere that McNeese was ranked 34 in FCS.

Amazing stuff. Two of the biggest FBS losses to FCS teams in history happen on the same weekend, and both FBS victims are from the same conference. It seems like the "new guys" are coming to play ball, and the "old guard" is still stuck in summer mode.
