MBB schedule finally released

Yikes. @Kentucky, @Duke, @Syracuse...not looking forward to any of those 3. Umass and Oakland will probably be tough games as well. The rest looks pretty manageable. More OOC home games than last year, I believe.

Also, the MAC switched to an 18 game league schedule, instead of the 16-gamers used in the past. We play BG and Akron twice, along with our fellow MAC West teams.

Is ESPN done with the bracket buster game? I think the answer is yes. I'm glad. Besides the marquee games, the rest were pretty lame

Yes, BracketBusters is done. I agree with you that it really only benefitted the traditional mid major powerhouses, and now most of said powerhouses (Butler, Creighton, etc.) are in high major conferences. It was wise to scrap the idea.

I love this schedule.

Very nice home schedule. Some very, very difficult games against power houses.

I believe Murphy has the horses to win a lot of games, but not Duke, 'Cuse or KY. :(

Pretty much an all Div I schedule. The team should be prepped for a MAC West run after this tough non conference schedule.

Looks like Green Bay is gonna be solid this year too. UMass and Green Bay will be two very quality home games. Robert Morris ain't nothing to sneeze at either.

So you only want to play games you think we can win and not games that will make us better? Got it!03-banghead

Where on earth did I say that? I'm just not looking forward to playing 3 of the best teams in the country on the road. Not sure what you read.

"Yikes" was for playing 3 top ten teams on the road, not for the rest of the schedule, but thank you for putting words in my mouth.

Nice schedule. I really like the two games at Bowen and adding two MAC games. Concordia, Rochester and Albion are weak opponents, but i doubt it would be possible to replace them with other mid-major teams due to $$$ issues.

i also noticed the new dir of player deveopment is Jerome Robinson. i wonder where Jake Prescutti (sp?) went. he seemed like a good dude.

I would say you are welcome but I didn't. These are your words not mine.

RE: MBB schedule finally released
My first reactions to the schedule was very, very simple. We really have to play Duke this year @ Cameron? One of my absolute favorite statistics about EMU Basketball was that we were 1-0 all time against the all mighty Duke Blue Devils thanks to our NCAA Tournament victory. Now we're about to go ruin that. I also am not a huge fan of another road game at Kentucky as I'm going to have endure hearing about that from my students AGAIN here in Louisville.

I like the idea of the games back at Bowen, I like the mix of home games we have and I think this team could be an interesting one to watch. However, I'm not a fan of those two "money" road games for more historical and personal reasons.
