That's actually reckless thinking. Any time one industry suffers, it affects us all. Anytime companies downsize, that is just less revenue being spent in the marketplace. Anytime any business raises their costs, any industry tied to that industry also raises their cost.

What you eat makes little difference.

Now you guys are bleeding heart libs. Cry me a river.

So you don't buy groceries either? Or get a pizza delivery every now and again? How about a haircut or take the kids to the swimming pool? Use a convenience store or go to Costco, Walmart or Staples?

Think about what you are saying for a moment before you say it, hunh? You are talking about pricing these low skilled, typically young kids getting their first job experience right OUT of the job market.

It would put many of these businesses OUT of business, producing even more unemployed and without entry level jobs to build on you are creating another class of chronically unemployed or unemployable.

Where are they going to end up? On the public dole. All because "you don't eat fast food so it doesn't bother you". Solid logic there.

Save me the sob story. If they can get the pay raise, more power to them. Shouldn't be trying to artificially suppress their wages either. Fortune 500 companies want me to subsidize these wages. If they go out of business, so what? Why do I care? The goods and services are still needed, those people will be re-employed. You guys sound like the San Francisco liberals.

And you, frankly, sound like a knuckle dragging moron. If they go out of business, so what? Are you arguing to get these people on the dole or off the dole? I'd prefer kids with jobs that can later contribute to society, have worked a job or two, can add, subtract and perhaps show up on time.

Who in this is trying to artificially do anything other than these astroturf "protestors"? I'm guessing you've spent very little time in the private sector, either working to move up, making a payroll or running a business. amirite?

if theygo out of business, why do I care?... smdh. Welcome to detroit, bubby.

A. show me that proof.
B. what a pathetic, absolutely damning indictment of the entire approach of this bunch of rank amatuers and failed keynsians. If we are now cheering for adults with children to be on minimum wage and make that a life's choice, then you leftists should simply be embarassed. J effing K would be horrified.

Race to the bottom, progs. You've asked for it, you've earned it, now apparently we've got it. Wholly pathetic. I'm astounded.

I run a payroll every 2 weeks. Last one on Wednesday. I'm arguing for them to get "off the dole" and off of my payroll. Let them fight for more pay. Why are you so against it? Is it now my responsibility to make sure that McD's can sell burgers? Sorry bubby. Welcome to the real world.

How the hell can someone be dumb enough to only have a minimum wage job and be considered smart enough to have children?

...Or, rather, barely adults with a bunch of children.

Quote:Lawanda Singletary, 28, is a Wendy's worker in St. Louis, Mo., earning $7.35 per hour.

"I make $7.35 an hour and that's not even enough to cover my rent," said Singeltary, who is a single mother of four. "I can't do certain things for my kids."

Quote:Shenita Simon, 25, is a shift supervisor at a KFC in Brooklyn, N.Y., earning $8 per hour.

"We're barely surviving, if surviving at all," Simon said of her coworkers. Although her husband also has a job and she works more than 40 hours per week, "it's still not enough," to pay expenses for her family, including her three kids, she said.

If you want to avoid a one-way ticket to poverty, avoid having 3+ kids by the time you're in your mid-20s. I'm not trying to downplay their struggles at home, but it's not Burger King's fault they made extremely poor decisions in their personal lives. I know the HuffPo article is a small sample size, but it's not an uncommon scenario.

Not sure why folks expect to be able to support multiple kids on a fast food salary.

You don't get your own facts..

* Workers under age 25 represented only about one-fifth of hourly paid workers, they made up about half of those paid the Federal minimum wage or less. Among employed teenagers paid by the hour, about 21 percent earned the minimum wage or less, compared with about 3 percent of workers age 25 and over.

Keep in mind you guys on the left just got done telling us *KIDS* should be able to stay on their parents insurance until 25.

* Never-married workers, who tend to be young, were more likely than married workers to earn the federal minimum wage or less
