12/15 on third down for ECU, that's poor from ODU's D, or great from ECU's offense I'm not quite sure, probably the latter; but decisive in the game whichever it is.

That and the fumble at the beginning of the second half. Huge play.

Good Game Pirates! ODU needed to play a perfect game, especially with your QB in the zone that he was in. We gave ourselves a chance, but a few too many mistakes.

Let's see if we can step it up against the ACC.

Yeh great game, 450 yards for ODU, 483 for ECU. Hopefully our respective QBs can carry that forward against some better defenses.

Good game ODU... you guys definitely were hyped up. Wish our D had showed us something other than what we have seen the past 3 years but hey, that's football.

Kind of what we thought. ODU's O is FBS level. D, not so much.

I think this game proved it is quesitonable if the Pirate defense is FBS ready...they have two weeks to pull it together or VT will hang 70 on us.

ODU covered a -15 point spread. In the grand scheme, I can live with if.

So what did we learn tonight? ECU is not Alabama and Heineke is not John Elway.

I'm happy with the performance of our team our offense preformed, our defense ,as bad as it was, still looks greatly improved from the past few years.

My fear for this game was getting rolled over, and for this one we hung in pretty well until the 4th. For our first FBS game i don't think you could ask for much better.

I don't think anyone at ECU thought we are anywhere close to Alabama but what we did learn is Ruff is not going to be our Frank Beamer coach who will be here for 20 years; eventhough I think the world of him; tonight proves he just simply will not take our program beyond average 6 to 7 wins with shIty bowl games....not sure what ODU learned from tonight...I would think they learned playing FBS teams with "the same ole sh!ty" defense play we have had for 3 years and they will win some games.

I think ODU learns a fair bit. If our defense did better on third down then we would have won. We didn't do better and we didn't win so that's that, but ODU can compete with one of the best C-USA teams with only one year of FBS recruiting. That's what this year is about for us, seeing how we can make the grade for the next few seasons. ODU wasn't outclassed, we just made too many mistakes, that's easier to fix than not having a good enough roster.

Well done ECU, it was a great game. I'd love to see Carden put some hurt down on the rest of C-USA.
