Pitch Count
Another article advancing the idea that college needs a pitch count limit. This time it's not all WG's fault.

The bias here is that these talented college pitchers are future major leaguers, so don't mess up their pro careers.

RE: Pitch Count
This would not effect The OG or Rice so long as the weekly pitch count is in the 105 - 115 range.

However, if you're going to set such a limit on college coaches, then to help compensate, increase the numer of baseball scholarship to 15 (which would still be embarrassingly low given the 35-man roster).

RE: Pitch Count
While I understand the concern, I think it is borderline ridiculous to blame his workload in 2010 for an injury in 2013.

RE: Pitch Count
I liked how he cites Strasburg having a pitch count/inning count at SDSU but still needing TJ. Kinda contradicts the logic. There's just no way around the fact that throwing a baseball puts a ton of pressure on arms. Not a doctor but would venture to say te forces only increase for the fireballers like (Harvey, Strasburg, Bundy, etc.)

I'd love to see a study whether TJ is caused by 'bullets running out in gun' where the arm(tendon) is going to eventually give way after X pitches(force) or is it the danger zone 100+ pitch count games, short rest, etc.

If MLB is trully worried about arms and their investments, decrease the amount of games to decrease workloads.
