Again, all the high and mighty who pretend they've NEVER tolerated athletes with character issues because he was a great FB or BB player.

The stuff he's done is incredibly minor compared to some of the thugs out there who are suiting up for teams who have rapists and even potential murderers on their teams but ESPN focuses on one kid who has "tude"

Playing Rice is one thing, but lets see his attitude will change playing the likes of LSU, Alabama, and the likes. I doubt he will be as obnoxious then.

You do get that the Rice kids started it right?

He should have been the bigger person and walked away but he didn't just go up to the Rice kids and start trash talking.

Acting like he was picking on the poor defenseless owls is buying into ESPNs idiocy

What difference does the Rice players trash talking should mean to him. Yes, he is young, but he better get over the this fast. It only hurts him and the team.

Especially when the ref chooses to ignore the Rice players who did start it.

My point is that some people here are acting like he's this horrible bully picking on poor defenseless little Rice but won't dare pick a fight with someone his own size

He didn't pick the fight

He shouldn't have responded to it at all but this BS narrative ESPN is trying to make it into is exactly that

Look the fact is he is under a microscope due to the heisman and he is coming off looking like a crybaby dbag. Other players pull crap too, yes but other players don't have heisman attached to their names. He's gonna have to grow up or at least act like a high schooler rather than spoiled toddler real quick.

And you don't see that that image is exactly what ESPN wants?

They had a segment earlier where they talked about AJ McCarron being godfather to a young bama fan girl with leukemia...and then immeadietly followed it with a "Johnny out if control" segment

The narrative they are creating ahead of the A&M vs Bama game is so painfully obvious and yet people are lapping it up like a cat with fresh cream

First, when it comes to fan bases being "high and mighty" nobody out-does the Aggies. The hate y'all had for Texas Tech QB Graham Harrell was insane. And why did you Ags allegedly* hate Harrell? Because he was an emotional player on the field. You Ags painted GH as a CFB anti-Christ whose "antics" would never be allowed at Texas A&M but should be expected from "lowly" Texas Tech. Lol. Harrell was nothing but classy off the field unlike your current thug-life QB. 03-lmfao

And here's the real kicker. Texas A&M has always held itself both above and different from us "common universities" because of the Aggie Honor Code that says, among other things, that an Aggie would never lie, cheat, steal, etc. Aggies believed that code made them special. Nobody else believed it but that wasn't relevant in College Station. Now with A&M's blatant disregard of truth and honor in the Manziel debacle, the myth of the Aggie honor code is obliterated. A&M is now low hanging fruit. Welcome. 04-cheers

*Everyone knows you Ags hated Harrell because he whooped your Aggie arses! ;-)

Umm...nobody hated Graham Harrell

Nobody hates Texas Tech

Texas Tech is and always has been irrelevant

But way to try and insert a team literally nobody cares about into the conversation!

It's all theatrics designed to garner massive attention to the product.

I don't doubt ESPN wants a 'storyline'....truth there. But your boy is feeding this by his actions. If he doesn't come off like his is, there is no story ESPN can blow up.

Look, just go beat bama...again!

From what I saw, he started it and the Rice guy responded. His penalty was every bit deserved. As was his benching.

The Rice players were all the way on the A&M sideline and in front of the ball. They clearly started talking first and had no reason to be there after the play.

Rice can try and goad our players it's classless but our guys shouldn't be baited by it.

Really???? How many T-shirts have you worn this weekend? SMU??? TCU??? A&M?? I can promise you this, true A&M grads hated walking out of gomer pyle in 96,98,02,06 & 08 losing to an irrelevant school. How is alamo mike? Has he escaped the alamo?

10th, at times I come around and support you and then you spout your t-shirt crap. 10th couldn't get into A&M and I'm curious if he is still waiting on his acceptance letter to blinn jr college?

Here is the difference. UC, a commuter school celebrated their 1st 35K seat sellout in history. We play Stephen F Austin for our opener and will be pissed if we don't have 50K plus in the stands.

I don't despise many schools but I hope the gods allow coog high, bearcat high and t-shirt aggy fans to join the same conference. It would be pure comedy. Maybe then, we can allow the the non-cultish,non-brainwashed aggy grads back in the Big 12.

Of the 12 players to win the Heisman and return to college football, Johnny Autograph is apparently the first one to ever be goaded. Poor kid. He's the victim here.

He's the first to have such a huge following of whiney baby girl haters who hang on any negative gossip ESPN will throw them to fuel their fantasy about A&M crashing and burning and not being a threat to them

Here is a great article that sums up the ESPN angle of all this rather nicely:

Rooting for the Heel
