a smart UC fan would never say they thrived in the big east.

Also anyone talking about UC getting invited to a conference...that hasn't happened.

Xavier actually evicted them from the Big East. They were squatting and didn't want to leave. :)

Actually, Xavier and the rest of the "Big East" paid out their ass to buy the name. UC appreciates that money.

As far as thriving, UC built its basketball program back to respectability in the Big East. UC went from a completely bleak outlook in basketball a mere 6 years ago to respectability, and 3 straight NCAA appearances. Something that SJU can't say and they have had the Big East name surrounding them forever.

So you're saying your fine with being the AAC. You're happy you weren't invited to the ACC like everyone else?

Glad to meet a UC fan finally happy with being left out.

The "Big East" name allowed Cincinnati to recruit and re-build from their mid-00's disaster, and the Big East was built on the backs of St John's and the original 7/8/9... without the Big East name, where would UC be right now?

Never said that once. Never implied that.

Football is important for UC, hence they won't be playing in a non-football playing conference. Simple as that. If they can't get into a P5 conference at this time, then the AAC is their best option.

I suspect that UC will be in the ACC or B12 in time... don't know when, but it will happen. In the mean time they have to do their best with the hand they are dealt.

Don't forget... there were a LOT of rumors of the C7 inviting UC and UConn to continue playing basketball during the winter. Had UC and UConn taken up their offer then XU wouldn't be playing in the new Big East today.

Why has St. John's had such a problem rebuilding then? Providence? DePaul?

UC has won in every conference it has ever played in... yes, maybe the name helped a bit to get their foot in the door to recruit, but at the end of the day it is all about the coach selling a recruit on the advantages of their school.

The Big East did not build UC, Louisville, or WVU into great basketball schools. Great coaches did that through the years. All of them will still be very good in the future as their history dictates it.

Rumors? are we going to talk about all the rumors in college realignment? Well i guess thats what this board is for.

Facts: X invited to its ideal conference. UC booted from its conference. End of the day I dont care too much about rumors. Love the position X is in right now.
