RE: Joe Webb
Joe has the kind of talent that will put him on a practice squad somewhere and inventive head coaches will be figuring out something to do with him. The Vikings staff (like the Jets staff or other sub-par staffs) don't have the skills to teach-and-coach.

13 Vikings cut, including 3 WRs and a QB. Joe Webb was not one of them.

This guy named AP that single handedly took them to the playoffs last season with a lot of rushing yards

If Joe gets cut and no other team picks him up. Would he try the CFL?

There are at least two teams in the league that would pick up Joe in a heartbeat

RE: Joe Webb
Ponder is not as bad as everybody on this board makes him out to be. Webb is not as good in the NFL as everybody here remembers him being in college.(as a QB)

I'm sure another team would sign Joe at this point, but he is now a project that he should have been 3 years ago. I know everybody wants to point to RGIII and Russell Wilson and Kaepernick and say Joe can do that, but those guys are much more accurate as passers than Joe. I hope Joe stays on the roster and gets some significant time at WR this year. Then, I hope he gets away from the train wreck that the Vikings are right now.

Can't have it both ways bud. Either there is a train wreck or Ponder is good.

If the Vikings are a train wreck yet Ponder is good, what specifically is the train wreck?

RE: Joe Webb
Ponder is an average NFL QB. His QBR was over 50 in 8 games, and under it in 8 games. That is the definition of average. Would I want him to start for me if I owned a team? No, but I wouldn't mind having him around as a backup. Would I want Joe Webb to even be a QB on my roster? Not a chance in hell.

The Vikings are a train wreck for doing things like drafting Ponder in the first round, when the team had so many other needs. My issue with Ponder was never that the Vikings drafted him, it was where they drafted him at.(the same with Locker and the Titans, Gabbert and the Jags, etc.) Sometimes teams fall in love with players, and they just wind up doing something stupid. In the Vikings case, this appears to happen over and over again. We'll see if this draft and offseason helped fill any of the holes they had, but AP didn't run for 2,000 yards with an incompetent QB.

RE: Joe Webb
You nailed it in your second paragraph. It's not that Ponder sucks, it's that he sucks relative to where he was drafted. If he were a 3rd or 4th rounder they're trying to make due with, that'd be one thing...

I think you may have identified the problem. Ponder is both terrible and good at the same time. And the needle varies wildly from play to play.

Without AP Ponder would have already been cut. Lord knows he cannot be traded. They will put up with that disaster one more season.
