The "dorms" under construction on southern are indeed private.

The new grand entrance and music buildings will not begin construction until the acquisition of property on Watauga is complete. The University has a large percentage of those homes, but not all. If you want to know which ones they own, simply drive down Watauga and look for the same style of street number signs on the houses - all of those with matching black and white street # signs are University owned.

They repaved it.

Asphalt, not rubberized like South campus- but the old asphalt track had a lot of problems, this new one looks better.

They are also doing something between the track and the access to the fountain- not sure what.

Semi serious question - Can the University of Memphis be the University of Memphis without Richardson Towers?

The housing on Southern & Patterson is indeed private, but I think it is nice to see increased private development in the University area.

Man, I spent a lot of nights picking up and dropping off a pretty coed at Richardson Towers. We literally ran into Elvis' entourage late one night, we were leaving Friday's and E and company were invading The Memphian.
