And memphis is certainly not joining the B12.
The best they can hope is that the best of the mwc merge with the best of the aac.

The fact is that Oklahoma and Texas both have done a lot of talking with other conferences. They both have displayed some inkling that there might be better pastures to graze in. For someone to just write a one liner that movement will not happen....that is not an opinion to put much weight on.

You are right, in my opinion, Memphis's best option is that this new division happens and that they get in on it with the mid-major conference that is able to put together a strong enough group of schools in order to meet the standards of that new division.

I think you are right that it will be the AAC that is chosen and that some schools from the MWC will join it.

Exactly. Texas and Oklahoma both know the pasture is much greener going East where all of the media markets are strongest. Nebraska, Texas A&M, Missouri saw the light and are now in much higher profile conferences. TV in the eastern time zone is watched by far more people and Tx and Ok would be seen more often there in the SEC, ACC, B1G being in those conferences.

Hey! For sure, definitely check out a game at Kinnick. Make sure you get there early and do some research. There are plenty of folks that tailgate there, a very healthy tailgating culture but there are other places in Iowa City that people hang out before the game as well. Just depends upon what your tastes are. If you are going to stay in Iowa City over night before gameday then I would say that is a good idea. I-80 coming into town from East or West is a real pain on game day, there will be a line of cars going for miles in both directions if you have bad timing.

Last tip, do try to schedule your visit to coincide with a conference opponent or against Iowa State. The other games wont quite have the same crowd participation. It will still be a great time and the crowd certainly isn't quiet but the conference match ups are definitely different.

Hopefully this is a surprise season and they do well, but if it goes as expected....well it might be better to go to an earlier season match up rather than a late one.

I'm a STH and I suggest you get to Iowa City early before kickoff. If you plan a couple hours early, you'll be on time. Also, take the Hawkeye Express train from C'ville to Iowa City - it's totally worth it.

Also, isn't there a two night minimum for hotel stays in Iowa City/Coralville?

May very well be the case with the Motels. When I lived in Iowa, I lived close enough to the area to drive there earlier in the morning.
