Work the problem out. If we do nothing and some Syrian CW Agents explode in Tel Aviv, the some cities in the Middle East will get nuked.

The success rate of that happening with the current administration is just about equal to the support percentage...

I'm saying work the problem to its likely conclusions. People realize that there is high probability that nuclear weapons will be used if no action is taken, then public support for intervention will increase.

When the dem race was still between Billary and Obama, I had a dream that he won and we were eventually attacked by people in black suits, or gov agents... Within the last couple of weeks, I've been having dreams that we came under attack from the outside. Needless to say (since I've had foretelling dreams many times in the past) if we were to get attacked, it wouldn't surprise me...

Really? Where/when has something similar happened before? Seems like another big bad wolf.

Obama shouldn't have drawn his silly red line. He should've just wiggled his finger pointing to Asad saying "bad arab" and we wouldn't be involved in this mess.

What are some other examples in US history of a President going against the will of 91% of the people he serves?

Looks like a two day cruise missile and Tactical Air exercise to "punish" Assad for use of Chemical Weapons.

In other words Air Strikes to decapitate Assad's Regime. Ought to get interesting if Assad shoots back. By the way there's a Russian warship off the Syrian coast that will be giving early warning of incoming missiles and aircraft, so it looks like some of the cruise missiles will come in the Back Door from Turkey. Turkey is apparently going to allow the use of Incirlik Air Base

If we go, we must have the following objectives, not necessarily in this order except the last one:
1) Sink their navy, every single ship
2) Eliminate their air force, first by taking out their bases and then by destroying all their aircraft on the ground
3) Level the presidential palace and any other known government buildings, ESPECIALLY the secret police headquarters
4) Kill Assad and as many of his inner circle as possible
5) Confiscate or destroy all biological and chemical weapons
6) Make sure the next guy understands that if he doesn't behave, we will be back to kill him
7) Get out.

Agree. But this looks like a two day, toss some cruise missiles, and leave. A PR Attack, unless we get lucky and kill Assad.

Yeah, good thing Turkey and Syria aren't on the best of terms these days.

No concerns about collateral damage? If Assad is half as smart and devious as he seems, he'd locate the bunkers where the prevailing winds would blow the smoke (and chemical agents) over the population. Blowing them up in that way would help Assad.

Then he could blame Obama and the U.S. and the few in the region who don't already hate the U.S. could get on the bandwagon.

Of course, we need intel to know where the bunkers are. I have to wonder if we don't already have assets on the ground trying to ascertain that.

At some point, accomplishing the mission has to take priority over worries about collateral damage. That's been our problem. We let concerns about collateral damage trump getting the job done. The first time we don't, it won't be pretty. The second time we don't? There probably won't be a need for a second time.

These chemical weapons were probably in Iraq.

A war at our time and choosing and we left one of their major weapon depots unguarded for weeks

If you are a refugee from anywhere and go to Syria of all places, then you were pretty ****** to begin with.

Genocide has occurred before and we have done nothing. Our military resources are already spread thin let's not open another front.

That's exactly how I view this.
