That's an AD who has been on the job for barely a month and in Hattiesburg for about two weeks trying to change a culture any way he can. That culture has long been blase about Southern Miss football, believing the school can keep winning game after game after game with many of them never lifting a finger in support of the program.

I'm giving McGillis a year to see what he can do, but so far I'm liking him.

Came across the link to the website in another Texas State media outlet. And no I'm not going. Labor Day weekends are reserved to filling feeders and shooting Doves at the Deer Lease in the Hill Country.

Let me guess...

September 7th is "Beat Nebraska Day"?

Not that original...but then again, it's much more exciting than the 6 or 7 "Dear God Please Just Win A Game Day" events they hosted last year.

Very cool. Can't down a man for wanting to shoot something he's going to eat later (I've never dove hunted, but during bow season it's hard to get me to a football game). Best of luck.

About halfway through the season, it became "Dear God Don't Ever Win A Game Day" every Saturday. It worked, and the bastard is gone.

that was my thought... but you cant fault a city for trying to get behind a program. Hopefully San Marcos will get on board soon too.

Nice try though.

Wish I could make the trip to USM to watch the game. Looks like y'all have a great stadium and atmosphere. Also agree that your AD had a great idea to get the city behind the team. We need ideas like that in San Marcos.

Game Day at the Rock is definitely an experience. Too bad you can't come.
