Exclamation Champlin: Addition of Kevin Peoples has bolstered UAB staff, defensive line
http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2013/...er_default

"We spread out a little bit," Peoples said. "We recruit in-state first, but we're going to go out and find the best player possible. We're going to look inside our borders and give those guys the first opportunity to be the first one to jump on it, but if they don't jump on it, we're going to go out and find great players and that's our job, to get the 25 best players for this University."

The idiots who steer their kids away from UAB because they hold the football program in low regard are are clearly worried about the wrong thing.

Wouldn't you like, you know, have your kid leave with a little edumacation under his belt, perchance?

But then, dumbasses like that probably don't know there's a difference academically between UAB and Troy.

Since we have always gotten a good number of players from instate schools, the problem most perceive is among the "Top 12 list" players who are generally the only ones AU &/or UA bother with each year. Those still usually seem to prefer "riding the pine" at the 2 BCS schools to actually playing at other state schools.
