Please, for the love of all that is pure and just, either back-up this repeated accusation with proof, or shut the ever-loving hell up about it.
To the extent any GSU fan ever carried any delusions of grandeur about our athletic future, the last two years have put an end to that.
"either back-up this repeated accusation" OK - I visited your board, a few days before you were to be invited, and left a message welcoming you to the conference. I also left a link to the WKU site about our facilities thinking other Belt schools would also. Facility posts are common. Several posters took offense to this, seeing it as a putdown. I replied "no, just a welcome". The tone was similar to what I have read here. Anyway, I continued to visit your site for a few days. Your opinion at that time was that the move was good for football but a "move down" in basketball. Several felt that "we have a easy path to the NCAA now". There were other comments about the quality of basketball in the Sunbelt. So I would say that from the start it could be argued that you felt that you could "rollover teams".
A. That's a stretch.
B. IT WAS OUR OWN FREAKING BOARD YOU NUMB-NUTS!!!!
Yes, B has been emphasized multiple times by WKU fans in this thread. Fans from YOUR BOARD were talking crap about SBC basketball.

Aaaaaaaand? The point is that nobody has come here or gone to other schools baords and said we are going to "roll the conference". Even on our own board that is not the sentiment. Is it an easier road to the NCAA tourney that the CAA has been recently? Yes, probably. But that doesn't mean we expect to "roll the conference".
For having such a rich history in basketball, you guys sure are touchy about it.

Touchy no, Proud yes As you should be about your schools accomplishments. I have been called a lot of things but not Numb-Nuts. Thanks, makes me more certain about my assertions.
A team in its history that has been to the Dance two years all of the sudden coming of a losing record season is going to come in and take SB first season because they played in CAA against mediocre teams and a team that made the final 4 in 2006.....These couple of GSU fans are pretty special, its them and their families, only ones that attend their games in their middle school bball gym I am guessing....
Different in mediocre regulars season records is we backed it up by winning when it counts in (March)....Only thing Ga. St is getting ready for in March is spring practice in football....
Classy with the "dumb dumb" and "numb Nuts" comments as well from the three Ga St fan

FWIW, GSU beat VCU in our Final Four year in 2011 at home, and then beat us the next year on the road in a sold-out house of rabid VCU fans in 2012 at the Siegel Center.
FWIW, the season VCU lost to GSU at GSU, VCU beat Western Kentucky by 23 on their home court. This past season, WKU came to our place and lost by 32 points.
That's not to say WKU is a bad program (far from it), but GSU has beaten good teams and gone into very tough places (similar or better home court advantages) and come out victorious.
Ron Hunter has those kids on the right track. They beat us with really experienced teams, and took a step back last year without 6 really good seniors. It was always going to be a transition year, but I'd warn against those scoffing at Georgia State based on a cursory look at their record.
Ron Hunter's squads play hard, and once the kids get used to his style and demands, their defense will be very tough. RJ Hunter is a kid who has a great chance at making money in the NBA, and Harrow for all his drama, is still full of raw talent. They have a lot of nice pieces. Don't be surprised if they are significantly better this season.
GSU is no basketball power, and I'm sure their fans wouldn't try to say otherwise, but they have a good thing going with Ron Hunter. The Sun Belt is not the old Sun Belt of the 80's. It's a nice league, but a team with a talent like RJ Hunter will always be in the mix at the top of a league like the Sun Belt, much like Courtney Lee at WKU. Not sure RJ is as good as Courtney was, but he's still young, and shows plenty of promise.
Anyway that's my 2 cents as an outsider. GSU is better than last year's record IMO.
