Speaking of the JMU roster, Mickey spoke highly of a freshman wideout from Charlottesville in the most recent interview. Believe his name is something like Rashard Davis. If you watch his video, he's super fast. The other freshman, Ravenel, does not look as impressive in the posted high school video, although Matthews said he could play this year if he heals up from a minor injury. Of course, Davis, did his running from the QB position and is transitioning to wide receiver at the next level. In any event, he's a burner. The other guy mentioned as a burner is a RSFR (something Coby) and he will be returning kicks. Lot of new names this year.

Coby Branch is returning kicks. Really excited to see the new guys and hope they can really add something to the team.

According to Stoss it looks like we're gonna make Thourghgood (sp?) into a safety because his shoulder won't be healthy enough to throw.

Also it looks like Till left practice with an achilles injury, the severity of which won't be known until later.

We seriously can never catch a break with injuries.

Thourogood into a safety? Well that certainly is interesting, but I suppose having a big guy back there that can move will help our depth at safety.

Definitely a shame. Sounds like with the latest press video, MM is on the fence on if he should redshirt Ravenel because of the injury. Sounds like he would've had a shot at starting as a freshman if not for the injury.

Till with an Achilles? I hope it's just a minor strain or something, otherwise that can linger forever. That SUCKS!

I blew my Achilles last year and it was a ***** to get healthy, I hope for his sake it is a strain.

I am glad we still have Peter Rose who can flat out play, hopefully we are still fielding a dominant defense.

I know that an injured Till would hurt our depth, but I think I recently read that Rose had been challenging to take over his starting spot, anyway.

Did Till get moved back to safety? I see he's listed as SS on the current roster. I thought he was pretty much settled at LB.

I think we'll see Cunningham rather than Buckholtz but in either case it does give us a good sized line. We've grown about 3 inches from our 2004 championship team O-line. Crowder, Burns, Steinfeld, Magerko and Davis averaged 300lbs but at a more stout 6'2".

This would be quite the elite line if Austin Lane didn't get hurt in the Spring. It still is pretty solid though and hopefully they can give the Ginja Ninja all the time in the world.
